I’ve decided to pick a team to follow in each of the three leagues.

Bundesliga done.
Serie A done.
Just need to figure out the Premier league.

Brighton or Leeds. Do it.

Please keep in mind that I am a both a) stupid, and 2) unaware of 99% of what’s going on in that league, so all jokes are going to go right over my head

everton wont be in the premiere league next year

Reason?

Will Chelsea?

Brighton use a very data driven approach to players. Usually "no-name" types that they identify then turn into something good(or just expose as good with opportunities) and re-sell for well over values. Exciting young manager with a very attacking oriented game plan in general.

Leeds does the same in terms of data. They also have more American players (I think) than any other team (might be tied with Chelsea, actually?).

Yes. Fortunately for Chelsea, Everton and Spurhampton are so bad they've basically locked up the bottom two spots. Wed have to basically go pointless to drop to the third one.

Hmmmmmm very interesting. I also wanted to watch some Chelsea games to see how Pulisic did, but of course he got injured right before that.

And the Chelsea relegation comment was just a joke. ;)
Jokes aside, thanks for the info.

You likely wouldn't be impressed. He's likely on his way out this summer. He needs a reset in his path. We may be not utilizing him correctly, but he also just can't stay healthy.

Liverpool will give you a 5 dollar voucher for your tea and crumpets shop of your choice and some flat mountain dew

Would you say Brentford follows this model as well? They are fun to watch but sometimes I feel like they just say “ try and out score us.”

Yes, Brentford uses an analytical model to buy and sell players, too. They're owned by Matthew Benham, a guy who made his fortune using analytics to sell data to gamblers. He also owns FC Midtjylland in the Danish league, which employs the same strategy.

Thanks for the reply. It is cool to see these mid tier clubs compete with the big spenders and even play a more attractive brand in some cases. Definitely good for the game.

Top 10 Prem ExPts table btw:

City: 45 (+0)
Arsenal: 42 (-8)
Newcastle: 37 (-2)
United: 35 (-4)
Brighton: 33 (+2)
Tottenham: 32 (-4)
Brentford: 31 (+1)
Liverpool: 30 (+1)
West Ham: 29 (+11)
Chelsea: 27 (-2)

Jeez that is horrifically bad luck from West Ham. Not sure seen such a big difference in years.

Guess the good 2nd half of the season bets would be:

City to win with Arsenal falling off.
West Ham to come top 10.

Dont think so... must be using a slightly different methodology, like vs previous seasons etc, rates overall vs expected wins.

As I know the only games on the year Arsenal have not had better ExGF is vs Man United 1st time round and then Leeds funnily enough. Albeit a lot have been close.

While City have had less vs Liverpool, Brentford and United. (funnily the 3 games they lost!)

Was watching CS yesterday and saw something familiar on the Evil Geniuses jerseys. Hadn’t noticed it until now.

Apparently they’re partnered.
