:) Byram handles the puck like hot potato in the D zone, Cozens is a classic grinder playing first line minutes for some unknown reason. Byfield... no one noticed him so far.

This roster does not have any close comparables to e.g. Zegras, Caulfield, or Podkolzin. Maybe Levi is a single bright spot. Semifinals is the ceiling.

What?

Thanks for clarifying that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about!

What a pathetic effort by the forwards on the forecheck. One of the most games on the forecheck I’ve ever seen from a Canadian team, pathetic

to all the naysayers,Canada can't always be the best team.you might disagree with me with all the Gold medals we have.

If I were coach I’d say “NO MORE F’IN VIDEO GAMES THE REST OF THE TOURNEY!”

These boys need. God dam fire lit under em. Especially the forwards.

Die any forward throw a single hit that entire game? We win when we hit and impose our will. Today’s game was the complete opposite.

TSN panel is far to light on these guys though I did miss Buttons comments. Love to here his comments, he holds nothing back. My fav analyst.

I swear to god if Byfield or Tomasino because I saw him do it a couple of times do that looping flyby with a pathetic stick check attempt rather than hitting the D man on the forecheck they should be benched for the remainder of the tournament.

That was a pond hockey type of forecheck and sickening to watch as a Canadian fan. These boys need a solid scolding after that effort.

Props to the Slovaks they battled their hearts out tonight, can’t say the same for the Canadian forwards.

On the flip side, I liked the way our D men played. Lots of big hits and shutdown chances as well they were solid on the breakout. Drysdale, Byram, Guhle, and Barron stood out as having very strong games. Levi was solid in net.

Our forwards need a smack upside the head and a talking to about what is expected of them on the forecheck.

I thought it was a good game, was a game into the last minute, not fun to watch blowouts, where the better team could cheat on defence and play a cirkus style of game!

Must say im very impressed by the slovaks way to play this game true all 3 periods, hell of a defensive commitment!

You are really being negative. It is too much, snipes.

I though Mercer's penalty at the end of the game was selfish. Not smart. Canada needs time to gel and to get their head's into it. They kept trying the same failed dump/chase strategy that the Slovaks countered effectively. Coaching has to to better as well.

There was no creativity in Canada's game except for maybe a 30 second burst on the PP.

Slow to pucks, and s bit soft too. Maybe the boys, after last game, thought it would come without sacrificing their bodies this game?

Makes me wonder what would happen if we had Cajkovic and our best centre Myklukha (not suited for todays game)

Makes me wonder about if we had Owen Power and Alexis Lafreniere.

Edit; Or Kirby Dach.

I agree with post
Holloway back in- sit Byfield
Start setting some lines
How come the Q guys are always more noticeable and Ontario kids are soft perimeter players
You cut Poulin for Byfield- shame

That is a ridiculous attitude and I’m sure they had it.

That needs to be purged from their minds. Those forwards are not good enough despite their draft pedigree that is inflating their egos to dipsy doodle around, do the loop flyby stick check, trying saucer passes through two defenders rather than shoot the puck, and trying between the legs shots.

Cut the shit and play the proper Canadian Way or sit on the bench. I’m generally a pretty positive poster but what I saw from our forwards tonight was sickening to watch and unrecognizable. That isn’t the Canadian Way. Maybe that shit flies on their junior club teams, but it should not and will not here.

Those forwards need a long look in the mirror about how they need to play. Glad to have Holloway hopefully back and not because he’s an Oiler pick but because he gets it. I’d also play Pelletier more because he seems to have a little gumption to his game.

On the flip side I did like the way our D men played. They were fast, physical, and quick moving the puck North/South. Byram had probably his best game I’ve ever seen him play and it’s because how he was defensively. More of that out of him please.
