Sounds like Canada will need to play with a lot more desire (willingness to sacrifice) if they are going to make the Gold.

Is Chromiak the kid that plays with Shane Wright?

Lol Wright and him and will light it up like mad next season in Wright's draft year if they'll still be together.

Slovakia has a long history of great performances followed by "let downs" against weaker teams. I hope they rest up and prepare for tomorrow, it won't be easy with Germany getting players back and extra rest.

This is what you get overhyping first round picks like Byfield, Cozens, Byram, etc. and basically guarating them roster spots. I can't believe Canada cannot ice better players.

I keep hearing Canada has "four first lines"

Well it sure looked like four third lines today, minus the energy..

Slovaks on the other hand should be proud of their performance.
Isn’t this Slovak team really young too, especially compared to Canada?

Canada lacked creativity. They are slow in building chemistry. Will see if they gel in the next 2 games.

Slovak's played a real solid game. Nothing flashy - just a good trap.

But the camera !!!

Was cheering up for Slovakia to tie this in that final minute. They were playing really good anyways. Apparently their coaches know how to prepare them tactically and mentally. It is quite unfortunate Slaflovsky and Nemec made fatal mistakes before the 2nd, 3rd goal respectively. They were both among the best Slovak players in the game, they just took the risk, wanted to make the key play which would bring their team the equalizer. I know some fans in Slovakia are surely going to criticize them now, but hell, this is what a hockey player should do being one goal behind within the dying minutes of the 3rd period. I always like it when the players' mindset is like "we are going to tie this one, no matter if we loose 1-2 or 1-3, we just want to win."

There is a huge difference between pointing out a mistake versus criticizing a player. I am glad that both Slafkovsky and Nemec took that kind of approach of high risk/high reward. The execution unfortunately was not to their favor this time. If Slafkovsky keeps trying going through a high traffic eventualy he will figure it out how to make it. This game is a good learning experience for both players.

What are you talking about? Byram and Cozens came to play tonight. Byfield didn’t do anything, but they’ve iced the best players possible save Lafreniere and their injured players.

Weird take.
