You are really being negative. It is too much, snipes.

I’m generally one of the most positive guys too, just don’t like the way we played. I can deal with the score, but not that style of play.

I’m of Scottish descent so I got a bit of a temper when I’m pissed about our play. Said what needed to be said, hopefully they regroup and learn from it.

Early adversity is good, I expect us to bounce back with a better effort going forward.

Did I really just come into a thread where people are complaining about Cozens and Byram? Cozens leads the tournament in scoring and Byram was arguably the best player on the ice tonight.

This place, man.

Byram played the best game I’ve probably ever seen him.

3-4 massive hits, rock solid defensively and in transition. If he defends the way he did today, then he’ll be just fine as a pro. Very good work defensively from him tonight.

Where is the real game thread? This thread is clearly the ones for trolls and Chicken Littles.

Outstanding disciplined defensive effort from the Slovaks, who maintained their structure and used their big bodies to keep Canada from the inside.

Equally good defensive effort from Canada who were never hemmed in their zone, were relentless on the backcheck and did a great job turning the puck up the ice quickly.

Disappointed in the lack of chemistry on the Canadian forward lines so far, particularly on the PP. Team needs to start looking for each other and moving the puck quicker. Trust each other, more than yourself.

Dont trade him like Cernak ;) There was a lot of great Slovak players in Kings organization in the past. Hopefully Chromiak will be next.
Yes,Lombardi was stupid in trading Cernak for Bishop! And I always liked Gaborik! Strbak was pretty good too just never was given a fair shake in my opinion

Apparently he barely spoke English before he moved to Canada. How is that even possible with a Canadian father, unless his father is a francophone? A lot of kids from first world countries around the world that don't have any connection to the English language learn English in school. For a kid with a Canadian father not to is strange.

Not playing today. Probably resting for more important and less physical game vs Germany. Great skater and passer, plays with a lot of energy, size can be an issue sometimes but has very good hockey IQ. Want to play in the CHL next season.

Is he injured or they sent in a talentless plug to play instead of him?

Yeah that is bizarre. Spence sounds like an Anglophone last name rather than Francophone, but perhaps that’s the case? Would be odd if he had a Canadian father who didn’t teach him English.

gord n ray in booth , then duthie n mckenzie in studio is thee absolute best hockey broadcast crew on earth . such great chemistry in booth and intelligence in studio it makes any game theyre covering a great watch . light years ahead of any other broadcast

I guess his father and mother only spoke to him in Japanese for most of his childhood.

I admit I've been watching him with a biased eye, but Quinn had a solid game in my view. Looked tenacious in all three zones and forced a good handful of turnovers himself. Not flashy but just solid. What am I missing?

I thought he was fine, just that he didn’t seem to be helping much offensively with that line.

Goals: 1 goal and 1 assist in two games isn’t enough for this mob, unless your name is Tim Stutzle, even if your two-way game has been impeccable.

More importantly you are missing the fact that people are jealous of Quinn getting the spot they want their team’s prospect to have.

He’s definitely joking, and I laughed out loud for sure. But Byfield has really yet to ever impress me in a Canada jersey, minus the U17’s

He didn't even impress me then. I try not to buy into all the hot takes about him on this forum, but this guy always plays poorly when I watch him play. It's hard to be a big fan of a player when you just don't ever catch their good games.

Not every game is going to be a blow out and underdogs can make things difficult. That's why hockey is so great. Anyone can win on any given day. Take the W, learn from it and move in. You know, all that cliché stuff people always say. Remember, it's what you do when it matters the most that's most important in this tournament.
