Bucky needs to look at some old Billy Smith tapes on how to use your stick and I don't mean with the puck, way to much crease action against him.

If Chevy stands pat, he is not only clinically insane but unfit to hold the job of General Manager. Absolutely no way that you blow up the whole season out of pique at this point.

And I would just like to point out that I did separate "clinically insane" from "unfit to hold the job of General Manager" partly for rhetorical purposes, but mostly out of respect to Mike Milbury.

Post-game audio:

Players - Wheeler & Lowry.

Coach Maurice scrum topics: How disappointing was it to see a game like this tonight? How does he explain the 3rd period? On the Jets being embarrassed?

To listen click here.

Confirmation from Lowry: The Jets feel fat and comfortable with themselves, but they're not that good. Or not that ****ing good, to be accurate.

Personally, I had a feeling back in November that we would be in a position like this during this exact time of the year.

I have been saying it from the start of the season that this team is not as good as there record indicates and it will catch up to them one day. Too many cracks were showing even when they were winning. How many total games can you say wow they looked great. This team is lazy and plays a period a night usually.

Why wouldn’t they feel fat and comfortable when the only players held accountable are the rookies? I get that you can’t bench guys like Wheeler and Scheifele no matter how badly they play, but a guy like Lowry could absolutely get sat for a game to send a message. It’s as if everyone who has been on the team for more than a year is Teflon to this regime.

Hate to keep saying the same thing but this team is not nearly as good of a team without Buff and Ehlers . They both bring dimensions to this team that we don't have enough of . Buff with toughness , skill , bravado and Ehlers with speed and offense . I'm gonna wait to write this season off until i see a couple of games with both of them back in the lineup . By the way i like Niku but he's no Buff , look how bad Charoit was tonight . At least when Buff is playing he makes Charoit serviceable .

Buff while back was atrocious and very rusty.

I think the above definitely matches the eye test and reflects the decreased level of play over a long period of time. It is absolutely shocking that no significant line up adjustments were made since early December. An outcome like tonight was predicted by several posters on this board, and I can see they were correct. The downward trajectory was evident and no adjustments to the lineup were made.

I still think we will be okay...as long as Maurice provides some smart, dynamic coaching here on out.

Or.... Is he insane trading valuable assets for a team that won’t go anywhere playing like this, no matter who he gets?

On a positive side, we finally saw some lineup changes. Maybe that'll spark the vets and oir young guns.
