Considering Winnipeg is the least desirable place in the league Chevy has done very well. It's pretty much guaranteed that one or both of PLD and 55 will be traded in the off season as well as a dman.Miss the playoffs and this has to happen and it starts with PLD, making a decision on Wheeler, convos with Scheifele and Helle on where their heads are at, moving 1or 2 of Schmidt, Pionk or Dillon are some moves that can happen, but it's starts at the top and Chevy has had his time a fresh set of eyes needs to take control and assess who stays and who goes.
Just got back from a boardgames night... Dangit, I really hoped they could turn things around. Was their timing/cohesion still off tonight?
Winnipeg will always be a draft and develop team, apart from the first round Chevy's drafting record is average finding Helle in the later rounds his real only success. His trades haven't fared that much better. He has been here long enough and this team needs a fresh set of eyes to evaluate the core and make moves.Considering Winnipeg is the least desirable place in the league Chevy has done very well. I got the full 8 points. But I’m not thrilled about it.1 loser point for me in the prediction contest!
Nothing is happening to Chevy. They just gave him a new contract AFTER last season, and this season has been an improvement on that.Miss the playoffs and this has to happen and it starts with PLD, making a decision on Wheeler, convos with Scheifele and Helle on where their heads are at, moving 1or 2 of Schmidt, Pionk or Dillon are some moves that can happen, but it's starts at the top and Chevy has had his time a fresh set of eyes needs to take control and assess who stays and who goes.
I wouldn't say missing the playoffs again if they do is an improvement, keep Chevy and we will be talking about the same things next yearNothing is happening to Chevy. They just gave him a new contract AFTER last season, and this season has been an improvement on that.
Lets see if they do miss first. I just don't see them cutting bait so quickly after signing him.I wouldn't say missing the playoffs again if they do is an improvement, keep Chevy and we will be talking about the same things next year
IMHO they played well, much better than the Wild EXCEPT Helly - he had a below average outing. YMMVJust got back from a boardgames night... Dangit, I really hoped they could turn things around. Was their timing/cohesion still off tonight?
This - so much this. The no bounces/bad bounces part has been going on for a while now and hopefully will change for the better soon. But there are so many players making poor decisions right now ,it is almost unbelieveable. They are collectively bobbling pucks; passing into skates or simply giving the puck away; missing the net or flailing around to simply direct the puck towards the net; and generally not playing sound positional hockey. They elect not to get on the right side of the puck along the boards and position for a puck battle, and, seem to have no idea how to position themselves and their stick at netfront for screening and rebounds. For all the frustrating plays, terrible PP and some shaky play by Helle, they were still unlucky to lose. Most teams who tilt the ice that much win far more often then not. It’s just been a combination of no bounces, bad bounces, poor decisions and poor execution at crucial times. They need to bear down, stop bobbling pucks, stop missing nets, get on the right side of the puck along the wall and stop giving the puck up so cheaply at times.

Oh I agree it's not over yet, but full disclosure I wanted Chevy gone last year and thought his extensions was a terrible decision for this franchise.Lets see if they do miss first. I just don't see them cutting bait so quickly after signing him.

Future looks decent to me?

It`s going to be a challenge to bring about change at this critical juncture - especially with the team going on another road trip where there will be no time for on ice practise.
Seriously the last 2 games how can you blame anyone for the losses.I wouldn't say missing the playoffs again if they do is an improvement, keep Chevy and we will be talking about the same things next year
What 'should' happen is certainly different from what 'will' happen with this team. No question that the organization will see out Chevy's contract, but Chevy has had 12 years at the helm and this team has only achieved success once. It's the same issues over and over with this team, Chevy has proven that not only can't he solve them, the longer he lets them go on - the worse they will get. Massive losing streaks, dysfunctional locker rooms and players asking for trades to get away from it are things that Chevy CAN control by making bold moves, but he won't do it. Empty seats will eventually force Chipman's hand. This team had lightning in a bottle the first few years, pissed away by a terrible team with terrible coaching and putrid goaltending. Their approach takes fan support for granted, and it's just not sustainable anymore - there is no road to success the way this team operates and the fans seem to be catching on to that.Nothing is happening to Chevy. They just gave him a new contract AFTER last season, and this season has been an improvement on that.
So why are they all still here? Chevy gambled on a new coach solving all his problems, even though they’ve been festering for years now. What’s that whole definition of insanity saying?
Yeah, you won`t get an argument from me on that point. It`s no secret I am not a fan of the style of hockey being emphasized this season. But we are not going to see any changes at this juncture, so the guy`s will have to really get back to basics and execute better on fundamentals if there is any hope of success.Makes you wonder just how good they could be if they could excute. The team not executing well is still leading to a controlling the game. It comes back to not having a well defined offensive game plan to fall back on when things aren't bouncing right.
We thought big moves were going to happen last summer.......Considering Winnipeg is the least desirable place in the league Chevy has done very well. It's pretty much guaranteed that one or both of PLD and 55 will be traded in the off season as well as a dman.
You thought wrong. Chevy always moves guys who don't want to be here Laine Roslovik Trouba. We thought big moves were going to happen last summer.......
