Being a seller at the deadline gets you more value for your players than at any other time.Well... yeah. But that would be the right move either way.

I like the idea of being a seller, I’m not just sure there’s a ton of trade value in the guys that are obvious trade candidates outside of say, Roslovic.Being a seller at the deadline gets you more value for your players than at any other time.
Helle wasted a good game. Jets started like they had taken sleeping pills for breakfast. How does a whole team go like that at the same time?
They got a little better after the first period but I don't think they ever really looked dangerous, except in their own end. What a turd of a game.
It was the type of game that you hoped that you could sneak a win from but it was not to be.Helle wasted a good game. Jets started like they had taken sleeping pills for breakfast. How does a whole team go like that at the same time?

That is the obvious problem. To get a return that makes the better they likely have to trade 1 of the 3 young wingers. Little, Wheeler are untradeable. Cant trade Scheifele cause no other C's. Roslovic, Perrault, Lowry are not going to get a big return.I like the idea of being a seller, I’m not just sure there’s a ton of trade value in the guys that are obvious trade candidates outside of say, Roslovic.
Complacency.
Buff could be in play depending on if wants to play again and comes back healthy .................does he want to continue here if not get what you can
Not really the type of player that teams that are buying are looking for either. More the type of player they are trading for a more experienced vet.I like the idea of being a seller, I’m not just sure there’s a ton of trade value in the guys that are obvious trade candidates outside of say, Roslovic.

Ya that’s what I’m thinking. That’s why I’m happy to be in the tank thread. We have an elite offence that just needs some defensive support and a coach that can exploit it.How about some ideas to reload this team for next year. Teams do it all the time. Take the down year. A good pick and make some moves in the offseason.
Ok so honestly that wasn’t that horrible of a game. I think we have to lower our standards of what constitutes a good game for this group. They were in it the whole time and lost on a horrid giveaway. I thought they created a reasonable number of scoring chances. Especially compared to what we’re used to creating over the last stretch.
Also, I still don’t think he’s particularly good but Bitetto is clearly the best of the trio of him, Sbisa and Beaulieu. At least one tier above the other two.
And Nashville has a spark since firing their coach. Hynes isn’t any good but the new coach spark is often enough for a boost.
What can we get for a waiver wire player ? A bag of pucks ?Not really the type of player that teams that are buying are looking for either. More the type of player they are trading for a more experienced vet.
Does Chevy trade Brossoit at the TD?
I think the overarching point of what I was trying to convey is that we need to lower our expectations for this team. I’m guilty of hand wringing over poor performances but I feel like at this point, accepting that this is a bad team and enjoying small victories is the healthiest option. You are very generous. I'm not sure Saros will even need to take a shower after that game. Most Jets shots came from the blueline.

At least we can agree that Beaulieu is the worst of the 3.
I didn't see a lot of spark from Nashville. They played just as hard as they had to, which wasn't very hard. I don't think they have been any better since the coaching change than they were before. But they are now only 3 pts back of us with 2 games in hand.
Yeah, 4-4-2 in their last 10 going into today's game. They have every right to be complacent.
I’m of the opinion they’re not scoring because they’re playing too much defence. But I agree on your assessments of Roslovic, Frenchie and Lowry. Roslovic is reminding me more and more of Burmistrov. Frenchie is at the end of his career. Can anyone have less offensive ability than Lowry ?Well considering it's only January 12 and we are right on the playoff line i'm not ready to pack it up yet . Jets were not skating in the first period but got better as the game went on . Helly played great and i thought our defense played pretty good after we went down to 5 defenseman . We have alot of forwards not scoring , Copp scores on his brake-away and it might have been a different game . Roslovic is skating but accomplishing nothing , Frenchie is doing nothing , Lowry hasn't scored since 1985 , we need the odd goal from these guys .
I think there would be considerable interest in Wheeler and he would wave any NMC. Would have to take some $ back thoughThat is the obvious problem. Speaking of Lowry, I miss the big mean fast team from a couple seasons ago that scared other teams. Where did that team go? Seems the Jets now rather dump and turn than paste the opposition into the boards. Does Buff missing make the entire team soft/timid?
I agree. We could really use Little just to shake up
These dull, stale lines. Roslo really needs to move down. Until then I feel the top 9 is staying the exact same until there is an injury... and Little is not even really skating with the team so who knows if he is even back this season. Or before its too late anyways
