Have you just ignored the other teams lately. They’re taking that option away. Of course we could just force it and hope it happens to work even though we may just kill off our own PPs 90% of the time but hey, at least Laine is getting a chance!!!

They're taking it away because we let them. Our PP is not even structured to have Laine as focal shooter and when they do try to get it to him the execution just sucks.

Laine has an offensive gift that that is uniquely suited to the PP. For him to have only 3 PP goals is a problem and a waste of a huge talent.

I'll say it again, Washington has done it for years getting it to Ovi. You don't think they adjusted to teams taking that option away. Takes some coaching...

Uhhhh, no. Matthews is garbage defensively. Laine is not. Laine forechecks, backchecks, hits hard, passes beautifully and has great vision and he is getting better all the time.

I watched a few Leafs games and even there the commentators agree about Matthews defensive game. ”At least he’s trying, hehe”.

I think this is by design. How many different guys are going to make a slow pass from the point before we start to consider that being Laine’s preference? And that’s not the play they look to set up anyways. It’s the cross ice pass from Wheeler they want.

There's not a chance in the world that it's Laine's preference to have absolutely useless garbage slow passes sent his way when he wants to score. By the time the puck gets to him the goalie has had time to skate to the bench to have a Coke and get his ultralight catcher for the anticipated shot. Open your eyes and watch how Laine fires the puck back at Pionk or whoever gave him the ****ty pass, as if to say "try again, you ****ing idiot pansy, and this time put some pepper on it." He's pissed off, and rightly so. Three months into the season and no coach has the smarts to correct the problem. Dumbest team in the league, AINEC. Laine's only half a hockey player and the dumb ****s who run the Jets are killing the good half. ****ing Maurice.

A spring cleaning of the coaching staff is needed. Let’s see if the results are poor enough to force Chevy take action. I doubt it though, because I have a feeling that Maurice will get a pass this season because of the depleted defense.

It really is unbelievable how often this happens. I think the reason nobody in the media has commented on it is that they are so slow mentally that 2 mph passes look right to them.

What. This might explain if at all true laines shots getting blocked or saved but most of his shots just miss the net on the pp. 5on5 for that matter also.

Our 1-3-1 isn't structured much different than Washington's 1-3-1 imho.

Also imho Ovechkin has a better shot.

All that said, Ovi has 0 PP goals in the last 6 games and only 1 in the last 20.
