I was just pointing out that no one agrees with the high value you place on skinner. But whatever.

I'm going chime in one time only, so how can you accuse someone of knowing more than others when you are speaking for every none canes fan that he doesn't have high trade value? We watch him every game and you think you know more about our players?

Yes, you watch him, you love seeing him. That just says your opinion of him is through rose-colored glasses. My opinion of him is based on what I've seen. Without any love or hate.

Why are you so hell bent the defending an OP that like 95% of people think its dumb and awful? Your repeated attempts to diminish his value are pointless. Because we dont need to trade you Skinner. Hell we dont want to trade Skinner period. So why don't you just give it up already?

Goal scorers don't grow on trees, and Skinners ability to hit any corner from any angle wth a release that fools goalies is truly unique. His deal is appropriate. He's proven himself strong enough to survive the grind. He's learned to keep his head up. He plays a better two way game. Canes fans get defensive about him because they're incredulous about the criticism. We get no one watches our team but what is said about Skinner is sad because he deserves more respect from the fans across the league. He was a petulant brat for awhile, but he's grown up quite a bit. He's a legit all star. Doesn't matter what any other fan base offers, if it isn't a star player coming back it's a waste of time.

The canes haven't been trying to trade him. I'm sure they listen the way all teams listen but he's hardly on the block. They have no need to move the contract. Strome isn't good enough, it's all that needs to be said. I'm sure there's a worthy deal out there somewhere but I don't think it's happening.

I know I'm a homer but I honestly believe Skinner has a 40 plus goal season in him easily. He could threaten 50. He's that good around the net. He's been ridiculously streaky the last two years. If he finds consistency he could do it.

You are on a Hockey Forum, where us die hards talk about the sport. We aren't casual watchers and we certainty don't love every player we have. We weren't loving on Malone, Terry, and hell, even our damn captain at the time. He played terrible last year and I doubt he will ever be back to his old self after that knee injury, but you don't see us crying to have him back. Obviously there's a little bias for your home team, but you have to take some consideration in what we think because we see them the most. Even Staal got more than what you're offering for Skinner. Please enlighten us on how good/bad Skinner is because of the few games you've seen of him, trumps our season to season viewing.

Like the guy a few posts said I should, I give up. We differ on his value. My objectivity is worth less than your subjectivity. My opinion has been stated and duly ridiculed. I'm done.

"objectivity" and "opinion" do not belong in the same claim. you definitely should give up.

Lighten up Francis. If posters want a reasonable, legitimate response, then start with getting facts straight and not just spouting off a popular Skinner narratives, many of which are factually incorrect.

Edit: Oh, and the very first response was a simple (and serious) no saying he doesn't need a change of scenery and the OP responds with:

Not quite the way to go about having a reasonable, legitimate conversation.

That you SGT Hulka? You wanna throw Stripes quotes at me, let's get it on!

Maybe one day one of these posters will save your life! Then again maybe one of us won't.

Quick note (if you didn't know). Maynard (from Tool) joined the army after watching that movie.

Back on topic. I Don't care for you snide remarks. A simple NO would have sufficed. To each his own I guess. And I don't think I want to take you or your luggage to the airport btw.

I did not know that, so thanks for passing that along.

Like I said, the first response was a simple "NO" and the OP then followed it up with his "Wake up" comment. Again, not really a way to encourage a serious and civil discussion, wouldn't you agree?

As for the "snide" remarks? That's fine. We're just having a little fun and if you don't care for them, that's your prerogative and I'm fine with that. As you said, to each his own.

Don't say "no one", because I do.

He's either the next "Great One" or a bowl of Jello. One thing that has been made apparent though in the trade forums is that Skinner is one hit away from getting coloring books for the rest of his life and that Faulk is over rated and doesn't know how to defense.

Man it's a mindtrip seeing a Hurricanes fan with an Islanders bandwagon avatar defend Hurricanes players to an Islander fan. INCEPTION!

If it makes you feel any better, Hank, I clicked on one, sighed, then clicked on another to confirm they all contained the Rickster.

Come on guys, Strome is a high end center prospect that takes longer to develop than scoring wingers who have posted multiple 30g seasons. Strome in 4-5 years will likely crack that 10g pace, and will have way more value.

Look, I get that Canes fans are amped about Skinner, but he has some very real, documented risks, that justify serious consideration of a trade like this:

Concussions

Fighting in the locker room

Drunk driving

Drug dependency

Elder abuse

Fetal alcohol syndrome

Smurfism

Scurvy

Plaque psoriasis

Dengue fever

Microcephaly

Confirmed Membership of the Whig Party of 1848

I'm disappointed that you didn't make one of these that Jeff Skinner is Strong video. Otherwise superb work.

We should take the OP's offer and be happy. Having an on-ice death by decapitation (inevitable) at this point is not going to grow the game and fanbase in Carolina. We can't keep having these players that are so likely to die in the middle of the game and not expect disaster at some point.

wow..........talk about an over dramatic analysis.
