I mean they just drafted arguably the top D-man in the draft, traded for Tampa's top D prospect last year, got Mukhmadulin the year prior in the Meier trade, 4th round pick Luca Cagnoni just had near 100 points in the CHL last year, Drafted Havelid a couple years back in the 2nd, drafted Wallenius in the 2nd round this year, 5th round pick Pohlkamp was a major standout at the WJC...

Also got Henry thrun From Anaheim 2 years ago…. Dickinson/muk prob core players, but could use another big dmen prospect/player

Damn that's a pretty good return for Nashville. Burke and Chrona seem like mostly nothing pieces, so it's basically Edstrom and a 1st for Askarov and a 3rd.

Good deal for both sides, the Sharks gave up assets they could afford to give up and the Predators got good value for a guy who wanted out.

COL's 3rd 2025

Great move for sharks… goalie was really weak for them…. How that gives them a young potential star .

If they can find a good young dmen to go with their core they are going to be scary in a year or 2.

I assume they have another top 5 pick this season to possibly address that

Not a bad trade for both, but yeah, IDK how much of a market there really was for Askarov. Don't think they could have gotten much more without him being more proven (NHL play).

We will see how good he is in the coming years.

Obviously early but dang Nashville took a big value hit on this one.
To be expected.

Proven goalies regularly go for pennies on the dollar in trades. Then throw on top of it Askarov is unproven (albeit with a crazy high ceiling) and forced his way out. They did about as well as they could.

What will really determine this trade going forward is Saros. If he continues to be elite, then Nashville likely doesn't give a damn what Askarov turns into. If not....this move might be looked at as franchise altering years down the line.

That's a fantastic return for a goalie prospect

Good deal for both sides since Sharks already have Celebrini and Smith

Good trade for SJ, good enough for NSH considering Askarov wasn't going to report and wanted out. SJ makes out a bit better imo but a good fit between the two.
