I'm not saying LA should go for him, but we may be a team that can keep him on the leash enough to take advantage of his game, assuming he still has one.

In Rodgers' case all he did was lie when asked by the media. If I'm remembering correctly, the NFL/Packers knew about his status before hand. It was the self-important media that started the crusade because how dare he lie to them.

What Kane did, regardless of if you agree with his actions or not, were not only a lie to the NHL/Sharks (his employer), but also a felony.

Rodgers, while not squeaky clean himself, still has a much better history than Kane, and is a top 5 player in the league. Both of those facts are also going to carry weight.

A felony that he apparently isn't being prosecuted for. Interesting that the relevant authorities aren't pursuing criminal action against him.

A quiet small market contending team like Carolina seems to be a match made in heaven.
If only they weren't paying Jesperi Kotkaniemi $6.1M

Now we shall see how much of the $7M salary will the Sharks eat just to get rid of him.

Everything points to them willing to eat 50%. A three team trade where a team with cap space can eat more (Buffalo?) for a pick seems likely. Someone will definitely want Kane at a $1.75M cap hit, even with the baggage.

8. Can immigrants get deported for unpaid casino markers?

Yes, especially if the conviction is for a felony. Non-payment of markers is a crime involving moral turpitude. This is because it involves intent to defraud.26

"Casino Marker" in Las Vegas Nevada - What If I Don't Pay It?

Talk to a non Nevada lawyer and see what they think. An immigration judge not in nevada will not give such a lawany creadance when they have other debts.

causing deportation on Kane would kill his ability to earn income to pay off debts which would accelerate the need to get bankruptcy

For that price I can honestly see a team like Carolina going after him. They are a serious cup contender this year, its about as far away from SJ as you can get, Carolina isn't exactly a hockey mecca where everything the team does hits the newspaper front page, they have a good veteran presence to keep him in check for the short term at least, and Raleigh isn't exactly known for its gambling night life.

I think one other difference is that the NFL doesn't have Canadian teams and border crossing multiple times a season to contend with. Kane's decision and fake vaccination card could have landed him and the Sharks in some potential legal trouble had he knowingly crossed the border while using it. He would have been better off just saying he wasn't vaccinated and going the route that Bertuzzi has in Detroit.

I don't think there was any vaccination requirements during last year's regular season? But I could be wrong

Obviously getting deported will kill his ability to pay off his debts. But if the creditors lose the chapter 7 case they won't get their money anyway. So what incentive do they then have not to go for this route?

As for your other point, do you work in immigration law? If not, I will go with the opinon of an immigration attorney.

I meant had he not been found out by the league and was instead caught by border agents this season.

There's two huge differences between Rodgers and Kane.

1.- Lying to the media about being vaccinated just means your an a-hole. Having a fake COVID card means you're an a-hole that just committed a felony.
2.- Rodgers is actually good and cutting him would have implications for the Packers. Can't say the same about Kane or the Sharks.

Not defending either one of them. They're both ass hats and deserve whatever punishment comes their way.
You think Kane isn't good? He's a 1st line PWF on just about every team. I think you mean to say he's not a superstar.

ConnorMcGregor: "Innocent until proven guilty but also his ex is just lying to ruin him despite having no proof to back that up."

Three woman accused him of violently grabbing them and trying to force them to leave with him. One said she could not breath as he choked her. Kane took a plea in that event that got the charges dismissed if he could stay out of legal trouble. Miraculously he was able to pull that off.

One woman just got approved to have her civil lawsuit go through for the alleged assault she suffered in 2015 from Kane.

His former Playboy playmate said he was violently abusive, mentally, verbally and physically.

And now his (soon-to-be) ex-wife.

That's six women accusing him. All just out to ruin poor innocent Kane's reputation.

You can accuse people of anything, so can someone else.

If mental abuse accusations were enough to convict, then every man who has broken up with a woman would be in prison.

Does Kane still get paid full salary if he's sent down? If this is the end for him, he may want to open a savings account.

He gets more than in the NHL, as there are no escrow in the A.

But will he play in the A? There are very limited numbers of spots for veterans, right? Also, do they want him in the A?

some say it is Horvat--power base has changed in the room
you are literally the only person saying this.
no rumors from any journalists who know anything about the canucks mentioning him as a locker room cancer. the only thing that has been said is that because horvat is a lead by example and not words type of leader, people are listening to the one who cant shut his mouth(miller)

They could assign him to an ECHL team. The Sharks don't have an ECHL affiliate, but have been able to put players on NHL contracts with ECHL teams.
Only if they are on their rookie deals. They can't put him in the ECHL w/o his permissions. It's in the CBA.

I won't consider previous accusations until proof is presented and he is found guilty. That's what court is for.

You think it's coincidental timing that he gets cleared of the betting on NHL games accusation and then Anna suddenly remembers to throw in a new accusation that's way worse?

The chick is visibly a mental case on social media who was pissed Kane cheated on her and lost all his money.

She went from angrily tweeting to Kanes new GF about cheating on her to gambling debt to making the accusation he bet on his own games.

Now that's died down after a thorough investigation clearing him of wrongdoing, and suddenly she says 'oh, and he raped me twice back in 2019. But I stayed with him and got preggo twice more because....reasons"

A lot of accusations about him are probably true. This one is has the markings of a lying ex throwing everything at the wall to force a settlement sooner.

ConorMcGregor “Innocent until proven guilty in the court, won’t determine guilty without evidence”

Also ConnorMcGregor “Anna Kane committed felony perjury but I have no evidence of it”

It’s almost sad that you’ll never get the irony.

Also, hate to break it to you, but she filed the restraining order before the investigation and announcement by the NHL was completed.

When six different women all claim physical abuse by Kane, I’m going to have a hard time not believing it.

But then again, I’m sure you’re totally on the Bill Cosby is innocent train too…

He’s broken 50 points once, and 30 goals once, in the last 10 years. His hockey ability is very overrated.
He's always been a very talented hockey player just does a lot of stupid stuff even when he's capable of playing the big power forward game he's really good at scoring and passing but too bad he loves to take shots on the net every time he enters the offensive zone. Its also not just about points Kane was a big hitter and generated a lot of offense off his pressure he often didn't get the points himself but forced the turnover that got the team a goal.

He has always been a volume shooter who could play a physical game. However he's never generated a lot of points and won't.
