You don’t think the Oilers spoke to Broberg’s agent before they went through with this?So now they have a guy who doesn't want to be there. Well done, Edmonton Oilers!!!!

Walman who the Wings just gave up a 2nd to get rid of?A lot of the Blues' worst defensive contracts expire relatively soon, like Leddy and Krug. Krug may, in fact, be LTIRetired. Faulk is still an OK player and Perunovich is finally starting to trend upwards after numerous injuries. They're likely kicking themselves about Walman and especially Mikkola, however.
It was low risk but this is their forward group with Kane on LTIR and assuming they match on Holloway:I think the Podkolzin trade was a low risk backup in case they had nothing else. I suspect the gift from Grier materialized.
Only works if everyone holds out. SJ is the 'free-rider' in this circumstance.Pretend for a minute it’s Chicago who had Broberg and Holloway. There’s less than 0% chance the Blues would help them with this type of deal under any circumstance.
I could see it if the Blues said sure we’ll help take Ceci as long as you’re sending a first, which Chicago (Edmonton) couldn’t pay.
Lol at the people saying Ceci wouldn't need anything attached to him to be dealtLol at the people saying it would cost a 1st to dump Ceci
Wait, do you think your cap troubles are solved now?And what players might those be? Not following the logic.
And if Emberson is playing in Edmonton on a regular basis you gave up a cost-controlled defenseman for some picks when we have no good young right handers in the system. It's improvement because Ceci is better than Emberson, but short-sighted overall IMOIt’s not terrible. If there’s a chance we can trade ceci for another third next year I’ll take it.

Don’t really see why San Jose was desperate to help Edmonton out for a 3rd round pick.
They aren’t.Wait, do you think your cap troubles are solved now?
I don't think the relationship between SJ and EDM is anywhere near the rivalry between STL and CHI. As a Sharks fan I don't really consider the Oilers to be rivals, our windows of being good just barely overlapped. If we made a deal like this to help out VGK ANA or LAK I'd be annoyed.Pretend for a minute it’s Chicago who had Broberg and Holloway. I don't think that is trueGrier is the worst GM in NHL history, and it is not particularly close.
huh?You don’t think the Oilers spoke to Broberg’s agent before they went through with this?
Not really, Edmonton needs defensemen over forwards at this point, and Broberg looked pretty good paired next to Nurse in the playoffs.Prioritizing Broberg over Holloway seems stupid
Ugly, stupid, ignorant, cowardly, irrelevant racism.Didn't
