Brown was at least throwing some nice hits.
They need to deal with Pavelski and Vlasic. There were so many times where I was just screaming "Hit them!" and then they'd skate right by them. They had one good check on Vlasic, they need to be hitting him hard literally every time he's on the ice. And please for the love of god someone just nail Burns and Pavelski

Especially since Vlasic is coming off a sprained MCL.

No one wants to admit the Sharks got some bounces too though because it doesn't fit the "we got blown out" narrative. Burns shot off schenn, puck bouncing around in front to Hertl, Pavelski goal off a horrible penalty call bounced and changed speeds...no luck for the Sharks, all luck for the Kings.

No only the Kings get lucky!

There's too many downer posts. Got to expand my ignore list!

Sharks were going to come hard this game, that was a given. They've been stewing over The Choke Job for eternity. And we played terribly. And we were still within a goal.

IF the Sharks maintain that intensity and we don't adjust/improve, it will be a quick series. I think it's very, very possible, however, that they come down a notch and we go up a notch. Then it will be interesting. And the longer the series is, the better it will be for a punishing team like the Kings.

This. Each team got bounces. We could have definitely played better, but it was a really close game.

I expect EVERYONE to be much, much better next game amongst our top players. Kopi, Doughty, even Quick (who was great anyway). No way these guys just roll over.

Sharks got their Game 1 revenge burst out of the way. Each win is exponentially harder to get.

Biggest difference i expect for the Kings, is Lucic, Carter, Brown- Parking their big bodies right in front of the net more often, to force Jones to search for pucks, and be uncomfortable.

The Pavelski goal was the single worst I've seen the whole season. I don't expect Kopitar to be out fought like that again.

Kopitar, Doughty, AND Quick all got beat there.

I think it's likely we never see that again.

Good things to come imo. I know when I feel most unsettled is when the Kings go nuts

Is it worth considering another line adjustment? I feel like the Brown-Carter-Toffoli is worthless. What about putting Toffoli up with Kopitar again?

Lucic-Kopitar-Toffoli
Pearson-Lecavalier-Carter
King-Lewis-Brown
Clifford-Andreoff-whoever

With the Andreoff line playing as well as they have, it may be worth loading up Carter on someone's wing again. I just don't see enough depth on wing with Gaborik out to justify Carter at C.

I don't know if this creates matchup issues with Lecavalier in the top six, though.

Welp.

Though if it's Gravel over the others, I am pleased to no end

It's a shame Martinez is out because the Kings have no top 4 options to use who can play RD aside from Doughty. Hope Gravel feels comfortable playing on the right side because he may very well be partnered with Muzzin while Doughty continues to be anchored down by McNabb, leaving the horrendous third pairing of Scuderi and Schenn intact, ugh.

Unless they keep Schenn with Muzzin (which was not a good pairing) and Gravel with Scuderi. They really should look at having McBain in the lineup.

Gravel and McBain please. Scuderi-Schenn, I don't care which is out.

If Martinez cannot go I put gravel in..if Martinez can go I put Gravel in and sit Scuds. If both Gravel and McBain are in than I think it means for sure Martinez cannot go and I sit scuds.

In this situation i could see sutter dressing 7 d-men, however typiclaly that would mean a member of the 4th line gets scratched. They played too good to scratch. So lets say Sutter wants the insurance 7 d bring..Who do you sit? King?

If he goes 7 D, he'll scratch Andreoff for sure which will be a mistake.

You sit King. He had the least impact of any forward last night. He needs a wake-up call anyway.

Minus Clifford's whiff, I thought him AND Andreoff were spectacular last night and could be a difference in the long run.

If Martinez is out long term we're ****ed. At least Gravel might get a chance. I hated the Scuderi trade then and I hate it even more now. The guy is no longer an NHL player. If the coaching staff can't realize this then they need to go. I had more hope for Schenn, but he doesn't look any better. Our D is an absolute nightmare that not even Sutter's system can save.

The first week after the scuderi trade I though..ok maybe this is not as dumb of a move as I thought. It has been a trainwreck since.
