Sending Chartier down was the right decision. He played well with the puck, but when he got in tight or on the forecheck he looked like a boy amongst men. Roy showed a bit of the same phenomenon.

I don't think it was as much that with Chartier as it was that there are spots open on the Sharks and he really had no chance and the coaches want to see the 9th through 15th forwards play more to see who will win those spots.

My comment specified *why* I thought "he really had no chance" compared to those the "coaches wanted to see...play more to see who will win those spots". So, if I understand your position it wasn't so much that Chartier wasn't as good as the other players fighting for those sport.....it's just that the other players were better than him?

I always thought "ovs" and "ova" were Russian. I'm pretty sure "ov" is male and "ova" is female. I'm no expert though.

As in:

It's a Russian name with the Latvian ending on his last name. Grammatically in Latvian it really helps to have the s at the end of the name because it changes based on how it's being used in a sentence. An ethnic Latvian family would not typically give a first name that doesn't end in -s or -is, but sometimes they go with an O.

Not that it matters....I doubt any of those three will see any significant time with the big club this year.

Less than 2 weeks now till game 1! Can't wait.
