Question?-with the way management has been shifting guys up n down while at home, when the team hits the East coast, could they do the same thing with a player like Meier, Roy, or Fitzgerald?.....call them up for 2-3 days and the send them back to the Q........I don't see it happening but I'm wondering is it legal .....

It's not legal as far as I know. Those guys are in the juniors until their season ends. At a minimum. There might be some really odd, truly bizarre emergency rule. But I doubt even that.

I think Baertschi got called up from the WHL on an emergency basis a few years ago but that's about it.

There are emergency call ups, but the team shouldn't need them.

After the Pacific pretty much forced the AHL to move the teams west and the Sharks being erratic and chintzy with their callups (only having 20 guys on the roster most of the time), I can't imagine the league would be happy if we had to use an emergency recall, and it certainly wouldn't look good on the organization.

A question I pose is: We've seen players get turned around in the past because of being shuffled up and down so often in the past (Zach Boychuck, Sven Baertschi). Is anyone else slightly worried about this with Goldobin?

Either keep him up and let DeBoer teach him or send him down and let the development staff work with him. Having multiple different coaches sending him mixed messages in a short amount of time is not a good thing, imo.

Emergency recall. Sharks "had" to do it when Stalock was out, and the only goalie they could get their hands on for a handful of days was JP Anderson.

Unlikely they'd recall anyone in CHL.

Well, he shouldn't be getting mixed messages. One of the main reasons the team was moved to SJ was so the SJ people could keep an eye on the SJB and both teams should be "one" with the message they're sending as well as systems.

Obviously, that's not happening and hasn't in a very, very, very long time.

I worry more about Goldobin sitting in the press box on this trip. If they wanted an extra body they should bring up one of the vets, same goes with Mueller.

Huh. Interesting. Wonder how the lines look like?

Something like this maybe?

Karlsson-Jumbo-Pavs
Goldobin-Marleau-Ward
Donskoi-Hertl-Wingels
Haley-Tierney-Nieto (who really knows about this line)

I actually like this, though I would probably rather see Smith in over Haley.

FWIW, Goldobin just said via Periscope that he is playing for the Barracuda on Tuesday. Looks like they are sending him down.

He was sent down after the game yesterday & it's likely to open up a spot for Zubrus.

Haley & Mueller will probably be sent to to the SJB as well before bringing a d-man back for the game on Wed.

Edit: Just realized that the SJB are in Charlotte for two games so unless Smith is ready to go both Haley & Mueller will probably stick with the Sharks through Wednesdays game.

Hoping the Sharks put Goldobin on a plane for NC rather than making him fly back to SJ on Sunday evening and then depart SJ Ice @ 4am for the flight to NC with the Barracuda.

Stollery has been brought up for the day, will likely go back to AHL after the game is over.

Not sure if an extra forward has been recalled or not.
