Curtis Pashelka @CurtisPashelka
Melker Karlsson at #SJSharks practice today. In orange jersey. Not sure of his status yet for Tues. game vs. Isles

Curtis Pashelka @CurtisPashelka
Tierney in yellow jersey (4th line) with Brown and Haley. Wingels, Nieto also in orange (3rd line). #SJSharks

Or maybe they'll just try to slot him right in on the 3rd line and continue to go with a trainwreck of a 4th line.

I agree Karlsson should probably start on the 4th line but I think the key to helping the bottom 6 right now (aside from not playing two facepunchers) is to get Tierney off the 3rd line, he's been horrible.

Assuming Smith is still out another forward should be brought up and Haley sent back to the SJB. Hopefully that forward is Goldobin as I'd like to see them give this a try:

Goldobin-Wingels-Nieto
Karlsson-Tierney-Brown (because he's just not going to get scratched)

Wingels has struggled this season but I think Tierney has been the problem on the 3rd line so really, while I think that line could be pretty decent I also don't think that trio could do any worse.

The 4th line should be much, much better than what they've gone with for the past several games.

I like those lines. I'd like to see Wingels at C bc maybe he'll play better there that at wing, at least for now. Having Karlsson should also help Tierney.

So Wingels will center Melker-Nieto? Interesting, 4th line will be ok when Smith comes back I think.

Smith-Tierney-Brown isn't horrible

Too bad Goldy got sent back down after he was one of our better players on the ice the past two games offensively

He can play all 3 forward positions & while Wingels played at C at times during the Ducks game he hasn't played there much since he came into the NHL.

It's worth a try.

I was thinking about the future, we need wingers like Melker not more centers. I guess it is worth a shot while Couture is missing though.

Karlsson in the middle would be a short term thing based on need.

As I said above Tierney has been awful as the 3C and they have to make a change there (it should have happened a while ago), they don't have many options at C unless they want to break up the top 6, which they shouldn't do.

Sharks will probably be recalling 1-2 (more) forwards and a D before they head out for their 6-game road trip.

(Barracuda leave SJ Tuesday, before the Sharks game. Have to think they'd be called up on Tuesday, rather than "recalled" Wednesday from Ontrio.)

According to Paul Gackle Goldobin & Mueller are missing from the SJB practice which means they've probably been called up to SJ and are likely to stay through the upcoming road trip.

Hopefully Goldobin has been brought up to play and not sit in the press box.

Would love to have Karlsson and Goldobin playing. Thanks for the update.

Seeing as how this Cuda/Shark shuffle is probably gonna go on all year, maybe we should just have a recall thread. Also, yay goldobin.
