Given Pinto's really good performance in preseason and the constant messaging about being careful and not wanting to have to demote him etc..
How would you feel if they sent Pinto to Belleville to start the year?

Dorion better run!

He's shown in preseason, and in his 12 games last year, that he can play at the NHL level.

AHL time absolutely would not hurt him, but with the woeful lack of centre depth at the NHL level on the Sens roster, there's almost no reason to send him down.

Tierney has been given every opportunity to be the 2C in camp, and I don't think anyone could make an argument that he's done enough to earn, or even keep that role. Pinto has outplayed him.

And lets be honest, White or Tierney as the centre for Jimmy is just going to hold Jimmy back. He needs someone with a higher skill ceiling who can grow with him and help him become the star player that he can be. White and Tierney are where offensive creativity goes to die a slow and painful death. Unless skating in a straight line and losing the puck along the boards is what you consider to be good offensive play...

Pinto in the AHL means Norris, White, Paul, Tierney as your NHL centre group? That's the exact group you use to tank a season...no offense to them, but that's yuck sauce.

Pinto definitely showed last year that he can play at the NHL level. I think the hardest part of playing centre at the NHL level is the D side of the game which Pinto clearly excels at.

That said I somewhat disagree about no harm in playing at the AHL level. I think for young players there is potential harm in playing a level of hockey that is below your current ability

I keep waiting for him to have a bad game, kid has been the model of consistency.

Creates chances with his power, is shifty when the situation calls for it and always seems to be there to make smart defensive plays along the way. Also, he's something absurd like 65% at the dot...

He is totally making the team.

CTC is gonna be filled with the ladies rocking their Pinto jerseys soon.

Helps that he's really good at hockey too.

Jimmy and Shane might be the best looking duo in the NHL! Sens need to sign Derek Zoolander to be the 2RW. He's the only one who can hold a candle to those two

Batherson as well

Would be massive if he could develop into the #1 center this team is missing. Well him or Norris really. Both have looked phenomenal throughout the pre-season.

His hockey IQ is absurd, you watch him and it’s like of course that’s the right play….every…single…time.
He’s also a really under rated skater.

Amazing. Though to be fair you could see immediately in the 12 games last year.
