Marner is simply not playing good enough. NOT a playoff player
Careful man, I said the same in the GDT and had a whole ton of stats thrown at me that says he was amazing. So, you know...

He had a great pass on the PP to ROR.

I can't think of another positive play that made any kind of difference (on offence). I will never question his defensive effort or ability.

I have a few question.

How many games did we lose at home in the first round?

How many games did we lose on the road in the first round?

How did the win loss pattern for NJ NYR last week?

Is this entire board made up of 15 years that play 6 hours of EA Sports Franchise Mode per day?
Hole cope batman.

These past two games really showed the boys are too excited and careless at the same time.

They really didn’t have the intensity from the TB series. They are not getting shots from the point and creating traffic in front of the net. They are playing for the cheers from Big Hits.

Also I think they got complacent with the extra space they are getting.

They better switch their mentality and play better or else it will be a quick series and the end of season presser will be the same as before, their faces in shock and being clueless.

I Beleaf in them and think they will win 4 straight.
what intensity from tampa series lol. Tampa outplayed us badly.

When I asked for more clutch, it was IN ADDITION to playing well. Not in exchange to playing well.

One way to look at tonight is maybe it'll be a slap in the face they can't coast and play like shit for even two minutes. If they played even half as good in the second as they did in the first and third, it's an easy 1-1 series.

Really think they should move Nylander up and see if putting him with Matthews and Marner would get them all going. They need to score.

Why does this team go into coast mode after winning a series? Next thing we hear it’ll be about how they need better emotional management having come off the Tampa series. Need to refocus and reset in the shock of not playing Boston, etc. So many mental things with this club.

Lilegren was terrible... probably not as bad as holl but made a mistake on most of the shifts he got.

Do you think it's better to be up 2-0 or down 0-2? Just because NJ overcame the Rangers doesn't mean it's going to happen for the Leafs. These breakdowns that lead to the last 2 losses against Florida are inexcusable to a winning strategy and trying to win the Cup.

Panthers were managing the clock. Same thing Tampa did... But they got unlucky doing so. Plain and simple is the odds of Leafs coming back in every single game of the playoffs was unlikely. It was unlikely in round one, but they did. Its what knowledgable posters were trying to point out in the first round. But we're shot down for doing so.

Nylander looked incredible... Otherwise Panthers pretty effectively shut down the rest of the team and got what they wanted.

They weren't managing the clock in the second though .. they got pinned down and got lucky that it wasn't tied after 2 .. they sat back in the third and got a bit lucky as well, but shut it down pretty well in the last several minutes.

That being said sitting back like that for the whole third isn't the best strategy...

they were f***ing partying after winning one series getting beers in teh locker room. that was a loser mentality to begin with.

alcohol stays in your blood stream for a good while impacting your endurance, energy levels, recovery and what not.

the money that MLSE spends on sports science is f***ing flushed down the toilet or they are jsut content with 1 series win
Florida was too. As was every team that won a round.

On the bright side, one loss closer to dubas being fired and this team getting a well deserved blow up
Wanted that as well but winning round one will be enough for the media shills to help him out.

Honestly, have some faith leafs nation. We've outplayed the panthers for the vast majority of this series. Things are gonna go in.

We've outshot the panthers: 72 to 57.

They aren't particularly good at getting shots through from the point quickly under Keefe.

Also Florida weren't exactly sending the troops in in the third period but were still able to enter the offensive zone with 1-2 guys quite easily whenever they wanted to so they still aren't good at preventing zone entries under Keefe.

Hate to interrupt the collective hissy fit, but this is hockey. Playoff hockey at that. Most of the time the team that wins is the one that gets better goaltending, capitalizes on their scoring opportunities, and gets more favourable bounces. Thats it. Florida has checked just enough of those boxes to eek out wins in the first two games.

The result is all that matters and the results are hard to stomach. But not much would have to have gone differently in these 2 games for us to be up 2-0.
Panthers weren't playing to win by 5, they were playing to win by 1 and did. They outplayed the leafs until they got the lead and then they shut it down.

They got their stanley cup in the first round
Sure as hell feels like it when they take their foot off the gas pedal like they did. They had this game in hand, and handed it back in the meekest way possible.

I mean, they got caved in for almost twenty minutes in the second (felt like it anyway).

My dumb hot take I can say from the comfort of my living room is I start Woll game 3
I would've been starting him from rd1 game 2. At least if he loses you can say you gave the best goalie on this roster the chances. Why they continue to run with proven mediocrity is mind blowing

Wanted that as well but winning round one will be enough for the media shills to help him out.
I hate how right you probably are
