They aren't particularly good at getting shots through from the point quickly under Keefe.

Also Florida weren't exactly sending the troops in in the third period but were still able to enter the offensive zone with 1-2 guys quite easily whenever they wanted to so they still aren't good at preventing zone entries under Keefe.

Advanced stats show that Leafs take the least amount of point shots in the league. They intentionally don't take them.

should be noted that eventhough Panthers took penalties they killed them in both games. They came ready to play playoff hockey.

It's a 7 game series, you nip it in the butt soon as it happens. Next game it could be Matthews, Marner or Nylander getting hurt.

Why does this team go into coast mode after winning a series? Next thing we hear it’ll be about how they need better emotional management having come off the Tampa series. Need to refocus and reset in the shock of not playing Boston, etc. So many mental things with this club.

It really does seem like a mental issue for them. Friend and I were talking about that right as the meltdown happened. They seem to get rattled easily and can't shake it off fast enough before the dam breaks. I don't get it.

I know they were down Knies but I hated JT and ROR together in the third while Jarnkrok did get more TOI.

Keefe had Kampf out there twice in the last 10 mins and Jarnkrok was on the bench .. also should have given him a chance with Matthews/Marner as well.

alcohol stays in your blood stream for a good while impacting your endurance, energy levels, recovery and what not.

How did the win loss pattern for NJ NYR last week?

Is this entire board made up of 15 years that play 6 hours of EA Sports Franchise Mode per day?

NJ came back against NYR, sure
But they get the benefit of doubt.

Leafs have a history of folding when the push comes to shove
NJ also coached by someone who went to Stanly Cup finals

They seemed to have decent goaltending and very mobile

They also beat team that were below them in points

There are a lot of things here are not the same

Keefe still had the 4th line out there with about 6 minutes left in the 3rd when the Leafs needed a goal.

Actually, they were out with well under 4 minutes left... maybe under 3 even.

That being said, that line was pretty decent tonight, but we squeezed a goal out of them already. All I can think was that it was a 30 second rest for the top guys to run through to the end of the game.

With 4 guys making half the cap we needed to win a cup before JTs stick handling and speed fell off a cliff. With other teams windows opening up and not paying half the cap to 4 players, I can't see the Leafs winning a cup in JTs final two years.

Honestly, have some faith leafs nation. We've outplayed the panthers for the vast majority of this series. Things are gonna go in.

The only time they’ve ever won a series they were outplayed. The script is the same as the last 6 years. Dominate, 1 mistake, in our net. Back breakers, stinkers, chances missed, posts, crossbars. I’m sick of it all, same with GF% xGF% Corsi and all that stuff.

I know this team can dominate, but it hasn’t and from the past doesn’t result in wins. for a team like the devils who just got to the playoffs, that could be good and seen as interesting from a fans perspective as it’s new. We’ve seen this script so much that we don’t care unless the puck is in the back of the net
