They weren't managing the clock in the second though .. they got pinned down and got lucky that it wasn't tied after 2 .. they sat back in the third and got a bit lucky as well, but shut it down pretty well in the last several minutes.

That being said sitting back like that for the whole third isn't the best strategy...
It makes more sense then trying to deke or pass the puck at your own blue line against several opponents. Leafs did it twice and gave up the gtg and gwg. This wouldn't happen if they had been coached properly during the season. How many times did we see this happen during the season? Its this was a Trotz or Tortz team those star players would've been sat in the season. Keefe... Rewards them with 22 minutes of hockey.

Leafs - do what you did in the first ten minutes but for more than ten minutes.

Willy - where the hell have you been boy?!

Mitchy - too cute by half Mitch and it cost you.

Sammy - excellent holding it down after giving up a bad goal but it’d be nice not having to chase the game.

Matthews - I’m sorry, I recall you having the best shot in the league?

JT - should only play on the PP.

Rielly - once again had a great game and retains his standing of team MVP so far.

Brodie - stop shooting into shinpads.

Gio - never, ever pinch.

Kerfoot - I’ve been liking your hustle - not enough to keep you at a raise but I’ve seen it.

Bunting - see how much better you are when you remember to bring your brain to work?

McCabe - unlike Brodie you need to shoot more especially when you get open.

Florida - hats off to two solid games for you, but it can’t last forever…

Last time Leafs were down 2-0 in a series: 2018 Boston.

Leafs got one back, went down 3-1, tied it up, lost in 7. This core has shown a propensity to come back in series before.

I’d keep dubas
He made great moves and team is strong
Everyone else can go

Unless he’s unwilling to fire keefe and trade the big contracts mostly nylander
No. No. Please no.

Kyle has done an excellent job. The best job. He's been great. Fantastic even. He's done great things for us.

But please, can we just get a different eye on the situation? Just to put the final touches on the masterful job Kyle has done.

Just bring in a closer.

Kyle's pitched 8 excellent innings. Let's go get our Rivera.

Posts up his arse too .. that's like, what, 6-7 in two games?
Those posts are karma for the Leafs not putting in a honest effort for a full 60.

Which imo is why they beat Tampa... it was rough, but they played hard for every game (other than game 1). So far here, they put in a regular season effort for game one, then were a complete no show in the second period of game two.

the "cute" BS players really pissed the F outta me.

i didn't see Florida make one fancy/cute BS play the entire game

It was so f***ing infuriating. Marner f***ing always with cute plays, matthews never does it unless he has marner on his wing. this time both of them did it ended up back of our net

should be noted that eventhough Panthers took penalties they killed them in both games. They came ready to play playoff hockey.
That's the identity of this team. Often times players can grow out of it. But here we are 7 years later

Give me a break. With all our rotten luck during the drought, we deserved to savor that for a couple days.

Exactly. I even went out of my way to call my friends in Calgary to rub some salt.
It's not everyday I get to do this

I can't think of one instance where the Leafs took it straight to the net tonight.
Take it hard to the net, anyone knocked down should try and get part of Babrovski on the way down.
Cause some chaos rather than simply staying on the periphery and circling the net.

Oof. Glad I decided to have wild freaky sex instead of watching the 2nd & 3rd periods of this one. Balance. Zen. Serenity.

Also glad I didn't purchase tix to the Florida games as I was aiming to do. Caught a bit of the Knies injury. Hope the kid is ok.

I dont think they were particularly bad, but by God, Marner is just so frustrating to watch.

Not bad as Tavares. I want to like John, I was a big fan of him 2008 WJC and I am always appreciative how he single handily won us that gold
But he was so bad tonight

Mitch Marner has 6 goals in the last 5 playoff years. They all were in game 1 or 2 of the first round. He gets progressively less effective as series go on
This playoffs both his goals were in game 2. He has scored a goal in a grand total of 4 game of the last 28 nhl playoff games. Pavelski and Draisaitl scored that in one game, this second round!

3rd liners would produce more with 22 mins of hockey and playing with Matthews and Tavares.

Leafs need to get him off the pp.
He doesn't like to get hit. Every time he does, he looks at the guy like, " didn't you get the memo?"

Anyways, time to find out what this team is made off.
You can't go in with the same line up

Gio has to come out. He's just has to. His legs are done
4th line was good, so I wouldn't change anything

If Knies can't go, that's massive loss. I'll call up Holmberg

Problem with keeping Dubas is that also means keeping Keefe & giving this core whatever they want AGAIN.

Nylander did and backhanded it off the top of Bob's pad. It would've been a goal if he'd raised it a bit higher. That was far from the only in-tight chance.
