Nice post, agree with everything except the Hank thing. For me it's Eddie (my first love), Mike (bringing us the cup) then Hank and what he brings. Let's call them 1a, 1b and 1c. J.D. is 1d.
What Richter had was pure, unbelievable athletics. Those post to post splits were not able to be duplicated by most. He remains the only goalie that I have seen that brought the Cup home.

To me, Henke is a lot like Roy. Much more technical. Maybe his is the year we get revenge for 1979.

We definitely disagree. To me he was far more cocky than those he was upset with.

Subban said he feels sorry for a team coming into Montreal. Some here are upset by this an think it's bulletin board worthy. If he said that you should bet on the sure thing that Montreal will win, that would be as cocky as could be.

What you describe as cocky I call being an ass.

I think cocky means what you think will happen, not what already has happened.

It just depends on the individual really, humble people can say something and it will be interpreted as confidence while an arrogant person will be called cocky. I think that poster is more confident than anything, but that's just my opinion based on the fact that you can't really be cocky about something you have no actual influence on. It's reserved more for personal achievements, regardless this isn't the most relevant discussion in relation to this series but I will say I think the Rangers are a much more humble and less arrogant team than Les Habitants.

Montreal scored eight PPGs in the Boston series. 2 for 3 in game 1. 2 for 6 in game 2. 0 for 1 in game 3. 0 for 2 in game 4. 2 for 5 in game 5. 1 for 4 in game 6. 1 for 5 in game 7. 31% PP. Boston had 3 PPGs.

Pittsburgh was 6 for 29 against Columbus. 20.6%. In the Rangers series,Pittsburgh was 1 for 20.

Philly had 6 PPG in 7 games against the Rangers.

The best way to cut down on an opponents power play is to limit their chances. Kreider has 4 minor penalties in 4 games. He led the team in minor penalties during the regular season. You don't want to cut the edge out of his game but the lazy stick-checking fouls can be avoided. The same goes for Pouliot.

Some of these calls were ********. Kreider got robbed of a goal being driven into Fleury by Letang and then getting a penalty for it. When Chris gets that step on someone and can go all the way to the net with the puck that's what he has to do. The holding penalty he took against Crosby in the last game was not a good one--that's what he needs to avoid.

As we're playing o6 team, will we be using 3rd jerseys for the home games?

Would be cool to see them face off in these:

During my week long hiatus from this board I can really say I missed your constantly off-base negativity that you pass along as realism.

My hard-hitting analysis of the team seems much more accurate than the tune you sing on a game in basis. And it definitely trumps your forecast of the team's success in this year's playoffs.

Don't be so dramatic. Ridiculous post.

Is McDonagh really nursing an injury, or has it been all speculative garbage from Pierre? He looked fine in Games 6 and 7 against Pittsburgh.

I think the general consensus is that he was nursing an injury for a few games after returning, but that he's now around 100%. AV said he wasn't hurt, but I doubt any coach would say that his best d-man is banged up at the start of the playoffs.

I was agreeing with this sentiment, then when AV said, after game four, when asked about McDonagh, that he has to play better 'because he's not hurt', he seemed to be challenging McDonagh pretty emphatically.

I think McDonagh was still sore, but moreover he was very behind on the decision making needed for the speed of the game. He seemed a step behind. He got it together in game 5. After that game AV said he expected McDonagh to play that way the rest of the series and he did. Three days "off" before saturday will be huge for him and the veterans Richards and MSL. Give Nash more time to get mentally focused for this series. This is a 3rd chance for him to get his scoring together. 14 playoff games and no goals. We are in the ECF. It is time for him to step up. Halfway through the playoffs. Hopefully he can get hot for the second half.

Would have been a nice touch, looking at the photo rangers posted on Instagram from 61' when the blue was closer to the 3rds colour.

Your forecast was a bit off. :sarcasm:

Yet we're about to have the same exact post season result as last year.

4-3 win in round 1. 4-1 loss in round 2.

Not far off though. Going into game 5, in Pittsburgh, 3-1 down it could have easily ended there

Haha…what?

His forecast is compared to the end result which was the Rangers coming back and winning the series 4-3, which is quite far off from his original forecast of the Penguins winning 4-1…

Or maybe you're being sarcastic?

Philly's net front presence on their PP is what killed us. Simmonds is a beast. Voracek took advantage of that as well, big time.

Subban is the Canadiens' biggest weapon on the PP, and I'm confident that we can take care of him. Vanek is a great player in front of the net, but he isn't like Simmonds. I think Staal will be able to keep him in relative check.

I'm confident the PK will come through, and if it does, we'll win this series.

Fun fact: Rangers have the best 5-5 F/A ratio in the playoffs (statistically, it means we're the most effective team in the league at ES).
