This game, a loss, is this season in a nutshell when we've had one of the strongest records in the league the past few months? If you hate the team, go follow another team already ffs

Yes we had 15 games this season where we had 40 shots. If we won 3 of those I'll be shocked. Play bad D on a couple of plays, have your mediocre goalie not be able to come up big, put up 40 shots, miss on ridiculous chances including empty nets and lose. This happened at least 10 times this season. Meanwhile Boston has a real goalie and wins these. Nice rebound control on the 3rd goal Hank, nice glove on the second. How I miss elite goaltending, but more importantly I wish we had a team that could score into empty nets.

8-6-1, actually.

8-6-1 in games in which the Rangers took 40 or more shots.

It's not a loss until we hear about how Hank is a washed-up, mediocre, loser.

He made more difficult saves than mistakes. By a ton.

I'm just so sick of this team blowing a chance to really give some breathing room.

Still control our own destiny for 2nd, but have to win out. Just a crushing loss, it just can never be easy.

I'm surprised so many people think that Nash seemed dangerous tonight, for the physical tools he has he really makes some bad decisions sometimes.... too many times he forcing stupid passes that result in turnovers, when he is in the zone he has to realize that it would be better to hold on to the puck than give it away as many times as he did.

As far as St. Louis goes, I can understand a guy being "snakebitten", but where is his brain right now? he is also making some awful decisions with the puck. He put himself offside on what would have been a great odd man rush opportunity and also made an awful decision to rip a terrible angle shot that ended up leaving the offensive zone, he just doesn't seem like a smart player right now.

Too many nights we have to rely on Brass/zucc/pouliot to give us something, because our guys that should be our "gamebreakers" are invisible

I was frustrated with Nash tonight. He got some shots on goal, but most of his play is perimeter, aside from the occasional mishap in front of the net, he spens far too much time on the outside. A guy his size, with his reach, and his strength(which he doesn't know he has) should be a bull on the ice every shift.

He simply doesn't have that mentality to drive the net consistently. Its very frustrating.

He should also be a force on the low boards.

Zuc
Zuc
Zuc

He's not just the teams tough guy. He can do it all.

He drilled Chris Neil

But the question is how smart it was, since he ended up in the box.

Lucky play by Neil, who sent our best line off the ice with less than 3 to go.

I really am beginning to think Nash is hiding some sort of injury. The contrast between Nash this year and last is just too jarring.

Every other game last year Nash was making a huge play.

it's pretty rough seeing your team pinging 40 shots off of a second string goalie behind a conference-worst defence.

if that doesn't frustrate you then there's something wrong with you.

granted, the post-game hyperbole is a bit much... but still.

I'm not saying it's not frustrating. It is.

But these kind of losses only seem to be happening at the Garden. They aren't happening on the road. I'm more frustrated at the little things like pucks inexplicably bouncing over players' sticks on passes, that sometimes lead to icings, or losing possession in the offensive zone. That stuff just doesn't happen in many other buildings. It's too much to solely blame on lack of mental focus. The fact of the matter is the ice at Madison Square Garden effing sucks and it costs the home team points the standings on a yearly basis. And no-talent ***clowns like the Ottawa Senators come in and play STUPID over pressure of the puck and get away with it, because the puck never sits clean on a pass.

That's what frustrates me. Not the team wearing the Rangers jersey.

Rangers have taken so many shots from Neil for so long. He knows he has carte blanche to do as he pleases. Sad that nobody can realign him a bit.

Can we please call up jt miller, Jesper fast, or Oscar lindberg to play with msl brad richards is awful and shouldn't be in the lineup and Boyle belongs on the 4th line as a penalty kill specialist... He can't even bring intimidation in fact no one on this team can. Dorsett and Carcillo are small and would get destroyed in a fight against anyone with some size ie everyother teams 4th liners

I liked the push back and fight back after the Neil hit. That's what I'm talking about when i say don't allow yourself to get bullied. They put their foot down.

They should not have been shorthanded. That is bull crap. A few guys should have been in the box, but it should have been even strength.

Zucc absolutely did the right thing by getting Neal. Happy he did, he shows time and time again that he is one of the, if not THE, toughest guy on this team.

Brassard should have made it a tie on that open net.

Didn't happen, move on get the god damned point next game.

Wow.

The best road team in the history of the franchise, and we get this.

And they can't win at home. They're not a bad team, this season they've just had a ridiculous amount of losses where players can't finish chances ECHL players can finish on. I'm tired. I'm mentally exhausted from this team more than I have been from a team ever, partially because they're so good partially because they're so bad. A bunch of chokers. When the team plays from behind they seem to be able to do the hard part, get great chances, but can't finish on empty nets. I'm tired. I will be pissed till the next game. Tired of it, I'm getting too old for this ****.

They would've definitely gotten a point with Talbot in goal.

AV can't get it through his stubborn head that Hank needs more time off in an Olympic year and with all the other crap that's gone on this year. Typical defensively loose home game after a road trip because the team expects their star goalie to bail them out.

Whatever. I don't expect anything from them in the play-offs with AV's misuse of personnel.

St Louis collecting a mountain of icetime with nothing to show for it.

This was easily Zucc's best game of the season. He set up the shot for both his goals himself, fed Pouliot, and fed Brassard what can only be described as the biggest scoring chance you will get bar from picking the puck up with your hand and walking with it into the net.

Still, this loss strings.. I have no idea how Nash didnt bury one tonight, he was playing hard

I don't think people even care to watch him play, if we lose just blame the **** out of Rick Nash

Who knows. But it's frustrating. Maybe he's still timid about getting another head injury. Whatever the reason, he has to buck up and start driving the net. If little Zuccarello can do it, so can Nash.

This. Team looked sloppy and disoriented most of the game. The Senators were getting tons of point blank chances, Hank played a fantastic game.

If we could take Zuccarello's courage and drive and put it into Nash, we would have the premire player of the league.

Why do some huge players like Nash play so timid at times, its mind boggling.

Idk maybe after going your entire career without major injuries and having at least 2 concussions over the past year could make someone play a little more timid. It really isn't mind boggling

I've been a die-hard for 30 odd years. I get what you're saying.

I agree with you about Hank.

I truly believe the inability to win consistently at home has to do with the ice conditions more than anything else. Washington notwithstanding, you just don't see this kind of puck behavior in many other buildings.

People were upset when we lost 3-2 against the Avalanche, a top-5 team in the NHL.

We lose a tough game against the Senators, 3-2.

Losses happen. You all have to realize we were DUE for some losses. We can't go into the post season 15-0. It's not realistic.

Our playoff position against the Flyers is all but assured. We just need to make sure we shake off these losses, and play well heading into the post season.

Penguins are losing 4-0 to the Wild, a team that has 13 less points than them. I'm sure their forum isn't exploding.

It's a loss. Put things in perspective, we have been one of the most competitive teams in the NHL over the last 4-6 weeks. Losses DO happen. You can always break down "IF this" or "BUT that" but at the end of the day, it's not realistic for every hypothetical to go the Rangers way. If that was the case, they'd never lose.
