Is there reason to get excited today?

Lots! In the span of a few weeks:

- Russell Martin, major update at catcher, biggest FA signing for Anthopoulos;

- Josh Donaldson traded for Lawrie and change: major upgrade at 3B; basically acquired one of the top 3 position players in the AL, without much payroll impact and even with an additional year of control;

- Saunders for Happ: took care of our LF hole for little cost, and even reduced our payroll.

- Devon Travis, an intriguing 2B prospect acquired for Gose, who didn't really convince as a CF and is passed by Pompey in the depth chart anyway.

So now there's still even some payroll room to go after an ace, assuming we can convince a non-Canadian FA to take our money. And Navarro (our redundancy as a catcher) can be traded for at least a late inning reliever.

Wait, RussMart is the Jays new catcher? I still have his Dodgers jersey somewhere in storage. One of my favorite players when he was a rookie/ younger player.

I haven't followed baseball in years, but if Martin is a Jay, I might have to watch this year.


Donaldson is also big, but I have no idea why Oakland made that trade. It looks one-sided on the surface.

I think i am having a serious eating problem going on right now right now. My grad school finals are coming up next week and my eating seems to have increased lately. I think i am emotional eating right now because of the stress. I need to stop being that i feel like i am getting fatter every day now.

Make one of your excellent Polish jokes next time you're ordering something or paying the bill. Making her laugh is a very good first step IMO, and the Polish thing tells her something about yourself and might make her open up a bit as well. Next time she sees you she'll recognize you as the cute (? or ugly? ) funny Polish guy. It's something.

There's some gossip that Donaldson and Billy Beane may have had a big argument after Donaldson asked to get a couple of games rest and Beane refused it.

Or maybe Beane knows something we don't. Or maybe Lawrie away from Toronto will finally fulfill his promise and turn into Josh Donaldson himself?

Oh and one of the pieces the Jays traded was a promising shortstop prospect named Bareto. Here's years away though.

Or maybe Beane blew it. It's rare but it's happened before.

Ask her if she has a boyfriend and don't think about it, just do it: if she says yes then that's that, if not then follow it up with asking her out for a coffee/tea

If you've liked her for 3 months then it means you've been going to her work for longer than that and she probably knows you like her. Asking if she has a boyfriend is a great way to bypass the awkwardness of getting shut down off the bat.

Don't think too much about it, just ask her the next time she doesn't look too busy. And trust me on this, if she has a boyfriend she'll still be flatered and not think any less of you for asking which is better than having her shut you down by bringing up the bf if she has one should you simply ask her out of the blue.
