How long you there for? And why skip out on Wales? It's a nice drive up around Monmouth and down to Cardiff. I didn't quite make it there in time to see the inside of the castle, but the ground are pretty impressive.

I did however manage to have a local ale... so my one UK achievement was that I managed to have a local ale in every UK capital city (got to Belfast once too on a long weekend I took)

If it was up to me we would go to Wales and Northern Ireland, but that is more up to my mom (surprise she even was ok with me and my dad going golfing once to be honest). Anyways me and my sister are only there for 16 days or so because we both hav post secondary classes starting on the 2nd

Well... not sure how booked up your itinerary is but... as far as scenic drives go... Lake District and Cotswolds. I personally liked hitting up a section of Hadrian's Wall for the history of it, and then you're not far from the Scottish border if you're heading up Edinburgh way.

For a cool 'tourist' castle...check out Warwick Castle. It's also nearish Stratford-Upon-Avon.

I never did really make it down to any of the south England spots, except for Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. But I believe Cornwall/Dartmouth are the beachside areas and then Dover has a nice area for caves on the other coast.

Also since you're driving - not sure how familiar with it you are but be aware that they use photo radar all over the place there (especially the highway in Scotland into Edinburgh). Usually marked, but they do have photo radar vans sometimes. And construction zones are based on average, not instantaneous speed. Since they're fixed points mostly, good satnavs will warn you in advance.

Yeah, I think my mom has a lot planned, but there might be some flexibility. Unfortunatly won't get to go to Hadrians wall. Will see Stonehenge though.

Well, enjoy.. and remember that if you say anything about your pants in public you'll probably get a few looks.

Honestly, New Vegas feels FAR more like a traditional Fallout game (closer to Fallout & Fallout 2) than 3 ever was.

If you like Fallout, I can't see why you would never play New Vegas. It's a bit buggy, but once it's patched, it might be my favorite fallout game of them all.

I love both Fallout 3 and Fallout NV.

In terms of gameplay, I believe I prefer NV.

In terms of story, I prefer 3.

I don't think you can go wrong either way though. Both are fantastic games. Fallout 4 is easily my most anticipated title in the next few years. I'm going to lock myself in my room for days on end when that thing eventually comes out.

Fallout 3 was garbage while New Vegas was fantastic

I realize it's a bit late to recommend to everybody to go see Boyhood since it's not playing anymore at the Bytowne (might be playing at the Mayfair but I'm not a fan of the Mayfair): it was really, really cool and very different while not being too out there.

Joe Meek

Artists that Meek recorded

He passed up the chance to work with the then unknown David Bowie, the Beatles (the latter he once described as "just another bunch of noise, copying other people's music") and Rod Stewart. John Repsch, in The Legendary Joe Meek recounts that upon hearing Stewart sing, Meek rushed into the studio, put his fingers in his ears and screamed until Stewart had left. He preferred to record instrumentals with the band he sang with – the Moontrekkers.

Screw it, I've got a roast in the freezer. Eggs, flour, butter, potatoes. Hop on down to the grocery for some carrots and parsnips and this has to happen now. Well, realistically more like tomorrow since the blasted roast has to thaw.

Excited to go to some British pubs for sure

A lot of people hate on it, but be sure to try a cask ale (especially a guest ale, there's usually more turnover). Just make sure that it's clear, not cloudy in your glass. Cloudy means they aren't cleaning their lines correctly.

Also, Witherspoons is basically the McDonald's of pubs. No soul, but you'll get similar quality no matter where you are in the country. And they usually have the widest selection of beers on tap.

I did both roast beef and pork tenderloin last week, so immune to the suggestion.

Trying to decide what to do with ground beef this week (default is going to be brown, mix with stir fry veggies and rice).
