It's a scary thought, but it's the reality of mortality.
No, the scary thought is that we're fated to do this over and over again and again.

Like Groundhog day.
The only comfort in death is that you dont know your dead.
I love ethics and took some philosophy while I was in Germany. I read philosophical works now on most days. Could you recommend me some ethics writers that are more modern or obscure or modern articles ? I still have access to UVics database. I only really know the big mainstream names
Ewww you like Hume?!?
In a way it is, but anyone who takes their own life is living in a reality that regular people can't understand. It's a world where the only option that looks anything close to good is ending everything. They're ill, they need help.
It's sad, very sad. Especially when a child is left without a parent because of it. We still have such a long way to go as a culture and society when it comes to helping those who are mentally ill.
That, and I won't have to see my ex-wife anymore.
Wait, what's wrong with Hume?
I just disagree a lot with what he says...
Or is that Kant..
I love ancient philosophers. The more modern.. the more bs, imo. Boethius was pretty good though.
Like him or not, he was hugely influential. Funnily enough, Kant was one of the people most influenced by him.
What do you disagree with in his works? Treatise of Human Nature was a pretty big deal, at least as far as Ethics are concerned. His perceptions/ observations in science can obviously be largely ignored, like most during his time.
Sometimes I feel really bored in life I dunno what to do. I also got Into 3 fights with one of my best friends we barely talk for a month and a half and every time we do it's awful and awkward for both of us :/

You live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless; it goes on forever, inwardly, do you understand? The fact that you’re alive is amazing, so you don’t get to say ‘I’m bored.â€
"Crazy is measured from 4 to 10, because there is no such thing as woman not being crazy"
I laughed, really, really bloody hard. Reminds of my Jim in According to Jim.
"Unicorn zone, these things don't exist"
Hilarious video, you made my day Benny, I thank you.
Sorry to hear about the fights. That sucks. Sometimes good things have to fall apart to make room for better things, though. You'll definitely find other friends and, hey, you might even be able to repair this friendship over time.
But as for your bored comment, I'll refer to Mr. Louis C.K.:
