Tapioca is a one-way ticket to Fatty-Fat-Town.

Population: you.

I'm thinking the weekly chicken wing and smokehouse dinners will get me there faster if it's going to happen

On a complete tangent...I really need to get cracking and get my tourist visa for Brazil

Big news on the war on drugs front guys.

Kingston and Ottawa police banded together for a joint covert operation to bust 21 criminals. 21 arrest with 10 ounces of drugs seized. A whooping $16,500 street worth of illicit drugs and $2,000 in cash for only 4 months of work.

This will cripple the underworld in both cities surely. Great use of tax dollars here. Imagine the value.

16,500 - $117,000 per year per inmate + Harper's mandatory minimums = tax payers are screwed

I've had the tofurky hot dogs and didn't like them. I realize it's difficult to get this in a veggie dog but I really miss the crisp snap of biting into a hot dog.

Vegenaise is awesome tho - and it contains less saturated fat & cholesterol per serving than regular mayo.

got to be the beer brats, then you can decide

It wont on its own. You'd better wash it down with lots of beer just to be sure.

Speaking of wings, I bought an Actifry a year and a bit ago. It does a fantastic job with cooking wings using hot air. The funny thing is that people confuse "healthier" and "healthy", so when you google search for wing recipes using an Actifry you find videos and stuff with bizarre titles like "healthy chicken wings." There is no such thing as a healthy chicken wing, and all Actifry promises is to draw out your death a bit longer. And I love it for doing this.

By the way, I don't actually recommend this product. You can only cook small amounts at a time, so it is really only useful if you are a single person living alone.

Now down 105lbs.

I. Am. Elite.

You are my friend. You are.:handclap:

On a side note, I can't believe how many people are in a position that they are in a position where they have to lose the amount of weight that they do.

I am curious as to why that is. It is excessive computer use?

Calories consumed > calories used as energy

I was never educated on how calories worked so I just ate whatever I wanted.

I had no idea what calories were until I was 18. This should really be taught in schools.

100% this.

High school health class was a sham. The curriculum focuses on an active lifestyle (which is good) but completely misses the point when it comes to consumption. They focus on portions of the 5 food groups and kids are left sitting there without the slightest clue.

Anecdotally, for me:

1) was extremely active (played different sports 4/5 days per week, cycled to work, etc), consumed calories to reflect activity level. Was very fit.
2) stopped playing as much sports/ stopped cycling due to knee injury.
3) did not change eating habits as activity level decreased.
4) fat

I need to lose about 50lbs right now, with the caveat being that I'm 6'3 and have a huge frame... so 50 lbs isn't the difference between "fat" and "skinny" for me, it's the difference between "big with some fat" and "slightly less big, but jaysus dude, you are still big".

Even when I was super fit and cycled 40km/day, and had very little body fat, I weighed 210lbs. I haven't been under 200lbs since grade 11. I would have to lose a significant amount of not only fat, but muscle mass, to get under 200lbs.

No beer, on lunch break for work - so I guess I'm safe!
Also, advantage to training like a powerlifter - eat whatever the heck you want and be happy when you gain weight so long as your lifts are going up :D

At the heaviest I've been in my life (and tied to what I was about 3/4 years ago) - but body composition so much better now compared to then, at the point now where getting random comments from people who see me on a semi-regular basis commenting on it. Probably gaining about a pound every week or two the last 3-4 months. Probably switch up the training cycle for a month or two though just to help cut about five pounds or so before I go on vacation in November.

Yes. Nutrition should absolutely be taught from an early age. That's the type of thing you could easily fit into a PE class curriculum. We don't really like to teach kids useful information they can apply to everyday life though. We'd prefer to assume that every person will be an academic.
