Yep, my biggest weakness is the sodas. Just getting rid of that and having water only I lost nearly nearly 15 pounds in my first month...and that was before I changed my eating habits. Soft drinks, sugars and breads...the 3 biggest things that pack on the pounds.

I have to say, though, if someone is a picky eater (like me), taste is very important. It's just too easy to dump the food that tastes 'meh' and run out to a burger/poutine joint these days. You don't want to feel like you're punishing yourself by eating bland, tasteless food. This diet thing really only works long-term if it's a lifestyle change. Thinking of eating only bland foods forever makes it easy to give up the diet. It has to taste good.

And definitely, chicken >>>> any other meats. We are very lucky there are so many ways to buy chicken and that it's still relatively cheap (*knock on wood*).

Cereal, cream of wheat and oatmeal are basically a cheat food. Can make them taste like desert but are actually really healthy.

quick oats + 2 eggs + cocoa powder + tiny bit of milk or silk + brown sugar or stevia microwaved for like 4-5 mins = 400-500 calories of extremely filling and healthy "dessert". Can add anything to it as well. Wheat germ or fibre, nuts etc.

Making cream of wheat with cocoa powder and less water or milk then it says to add, microwaved for longer then it says = cake like texture healthiness and doesn't take a lot of sugar to taste really sweet.

Nothing wrong with sharing info from past experience.

Yep, exactly. I mean, I've done some reading on the subject, glad to pass on info just as HAWT or anyone else is.

Besides... it's information from strangers on the internet. I would expect that anyone here who takes advice from us at the very least do their own homework about the subject, and not take our word for it without other (more credible) sources.

I don't know Bonk, suggesting to someone to eat a granola bar or something at lunch sounds pretty dangerous to me

Was sitting downtown on a bench drinking a coffee, a lady sat down beside me and began chatting me up... Pretty 7/10 ... When I got up to leave she asked my number... Told her I was flattered but I have a gf.

Totally an ego boost tho... As if I needed something to make my head even bigger

I dreamt the return of the Nordiques via expansion last night. It turned out to be a hoax and the remainder of my dream consisted of me watching a full-scale manhunt on CNN (I think, or some other news channel) for the man who perpetrated the hoax in Quebec City.

Anyone know anything about td place food and beverage program changes this week? Last week was a nightmare and I am curious if I should hit one of the restaurants nearby before hand if its a mess again.

I will never understand why you guys didn't go metric.

I wish we'd all use metric too :( According to wiki, which cites a book called "The Great Pyramid" as a reference, "Advocates of the customary system saw the French Revolutionary, or metric, system as atheistic".

It's not my call man but I look forward to the day regulation is passed (if it's something that can be regulated) to adopt metric-only measurement.

Am I the only person that thinks 30 isn't "nice", but instead "way too ****ing hot"

Hell yes. Not just the heat itself, but the humidity that goes with it.

At least when it's cool you can put more clothes on. When it's hot, there's only so much you can take off.

I don't recommend any wheat products at all. It spikes your blood sugar like no other. You are better off eating a Mars bar than 2 slices of whole wheat bread.

Nope. Wheat is good carbohydrates. Mars bars are bad carbohydrates.

And not all cereals have wheat in them. Oatmeal doesn't have wheat in it.

Wouldn't an increased blood sugar burn more calories?

Thankfully in Calgary humidity is not at all a problem. I don't even know what dry air feels like I am so used to it
