Why can't we play at home. :(

Seriously, we can't even fill a 19,000 seat arena. Ottawa is the Town fun forgot!

If it means another new jersey, I am excited!
That would be awesome!!!!! I'll make room in my collection somehow!

Canuck fans are acting like a bunch of 5 year olds that are crying because they aren't watching the movie they wanted to.

Realistically Vancouver is a team that can expect events like this and we're just happy to be invited. I don't blame them for wanting to play a rival. I'd rather we play a rival too.

Genuine question, are those tampa numbers inflated at all? I don't see how they could have 99.2% avg. especially with the way their team has been playing this year.

Not sure how you define "inflated".

... but I'm fairly sure Tampa had some of the lowest ticket prices this year.

There must be some way to make the numbers look higher than they actually are? I don't see how TB could have almost sold out every single game. Stands certainly don't look full either.

I just checked the stats: Tampa have the 2nd cheapest average ticket price this year (after Dallas).

As for "honest ticket counting"... you got me there. No idea if it's on the up-and-up.

I've been to Tampa. They are actually one of the only "success" stories of the southern teams. They smartly used their Cup win to build their team's profile and guys like St. Louis, Lecavalier and Stamkos are extremely well known in their market. They have a strong fanbase.

From the entitlement mentality you see with Canucks fans, you would think they had won five Cups in a row. Having said that, I understand that they would prefer to see Calgary, Edmonton or Chicago in there. If there was an outdoor game here, we would rather see the Habs or Leafs, as opposed to Vancouver or Colorado.

It's a mystery to me why they have scheduled Ottawa in there this far in advance. My only theory is that CBC would want this to be a a "national" game in the afternoon, while still raking in the big ratings from a Leafs game in the evening.

The Canucks and Canuck fans are so easy to hate

I wish they didn't make it this easy because I used to love them back in the Naslund days!

As ChocolateLeclaire pointed out, there's an historical connection to that potential game. There would be a nice build-up to it.

Put me down for a white Karlsson Heritage!

Heh I'm moving to Victoria next year. I'll definitely hop across for this game. Not exactly how I pictured my first NHL game outside Ottawa, though.

SO true.

I'm reading their board and I swear some of them are the most whiniest, entitled fans I have ever met.

Why not say: "Hey, this is cool, a game at BC Place with 57,000 of our fans cheering the team on!" ?

Instead, it's whine, whine, whine.

2005-07.

I do however remember the brutal hailstorms! Everything clouds over and BANG - massive hail pellets raining down on you! I vividly remember running out of the Red Robin at Lougheed and getting caught in a painful barrage of large-marble-sized ice bullets.

And also: "snow" is a loaded term in Vancouver. I can recall many people who considered morning frost to me "snow"... and I suppose, in their defense, frost was about as close to snow as one would ever see for long stretches of time, so I can absolutely understand the confusion.

Problem with Vancouver is that nobody is prepared for snow. You might only get an inch, but it's absolutely catastrophic because the people create more problems than the weather does.

Yeah the sunny day with rolling black clouds coming in out of nowhere is a Vancouver trademark. The hailstorms are great though. Nothing like an early August storm.

Some people who live in Vancouver act as if they've never seen snow before. It's so ridiculous that they feel the need to instagram the inch of snow that fell on their back yard over the last 5 hours. It's quite comical how panic stricken the city gets when there is so little snow. I suppose it is do to the rarity of it, we can go an entire winter without it in some cases. Although we have had some good dumpings for our standards (which compared to out east might be trivial).

We need some more Sens fans out here on the west coast, I see a handful when I go watch the Sens take on the Canucks. But the majority I've talked to aren't really BIG fans or HFBoard material.

HAHAHA yeah try living here..

There are two types of Canucks fans:

Knowledgeable and smart ones who know what they are talking about and are true hockey fans. They are enjoyable to be around. These fans come up to you at games to talk about your team, lately flatter you with compliments on how good your young team is. Praising the Sens and envying their depth and prospect development. They exist although maybe outweighed by type two Canucks fans, there are a fair amount of them.

Then there are Canucks fans who are not "hockey fans," just Canucks fans. They don't know anything about any other team and don't give a hoot either. Every single player on the Canucks, including Steve Pinizzotto, should be on the all star team. These fans give Canucks fans the bad name. They come to you at games and obnoxiously boo in your face. They may poor beer on you and deteriorate your experience at Rogers Arena. Poor ambassadors of a city that welcomes all walks of life, there is only one colour in these fans eyes (BLUE). Odds are they are from the eastern part of our metro region, but not limited to (SLURREY). There are lots of them, but not all Canucks fans are unbearable.

Also it has a lot to do with this city, a lot of disillusioned people live here that forget things quickly. Like the Grizzlies and the quest to get them back. They were here once before, and no one gave a rats ass.. Although we got dicked around, if we wanted them here we would have shown up to games. Even in the Canucks "dark years" fans still showed up. They traded away franchise heroes and drafted absolute plugs, but people still showed up. The whole throwback trend has taken a hold of the city and a false sense of entitlement.

But it's a beautiful place to live..
