Doesn't he coach one of the University teams now (or is involved in some capacity therein)? Carleton or Ottawa: Can't remember which one.

He's an Ottawa resident at the moment though, I know that much.

From the page:

The Senators Alumni is made up of former members of the Ottawa Senators in addition to former NHLers, American Hockey League and European professional league players who now call the Ottawa-Gatineau region home.

On the subject of alumni rosters, I pose a query:

Do you bring Yashin in, assuming he has interest?

On one hand, his connection with the city and the team at this point is basically non-existent, but no one can deny his importance and role to the Sens in that first decade.

As a younger Sens fan who doesn't have a clear memory of Yashin and the Sens, I'd probably do it. Might even be able to put some ghosts to rest in that regard. But I'd be interested to see what some older fans here think.

I lived in Vancouver... you can't fool me.

Snow in March in Vancouver (outside of the SFU campus in Burnaby) is about as likely as Florida making the playoffs this year.

2010 we had sun in February snow in March. If you lived in Vancouver you should know predictable weather does not exist. I'm not lying though we have had snow before in March maybe a handful of times in the last 20 years.. It's not common or expected, but it has happened.

When were you here?

As I'm learning with Pavel Bure here in Vancouver.. time heals everything. I guess. Based on talent and what he means to the history of the team on the positive end of things, he's a lock. But I don't think the organization has forgiven his antics.

Can we as Sens fans be entirely mad at him in hindsight though? He really did set our team up nicely with his trade out of here. Franchise centre and a Norris trophy winner for a guy who was just leaving his prime. It worked out for us. I just remember being pissed off as a kid, Ottawa having such a good promising team (for once) and he didn't want to play. I never understood it. I was only 10 or 11.

2005-07.

I do however remember the brutal hailstorms! Everything clouds over and BANG - massive hail pellets raining down on you! I vividly remember running out of the Red Robin at Lougheed and getting caught in a painful barrage of large-marble-sized ice bullets.

And also: "snow" is a loaded term in Vancouver. I can recall many people who considered morning frost to me "snow"... and I suppose, in their defense, frost was about as close to snow as one would ever see for long stretches of time, so I can absolutely understand the confusion.

Problem with Vancouver is that nobody is prepared for snow. You might only get an inch, but it's absolutely catastrophic because the people create more problems than the weather does.

Pretty funny reaction from Canucks fans, some of them are dismissing the game because they are playing us and not a team like Chicago. What a bunch of pompous losers.

As some have not yet pointed out, isn't next year the 100th anniversary of the Millionaires first Stanley Cup win over the then-Ottawa Senators?

Based on this page the 100th anniversary would be in 2015:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1915_Stanley_Cup_Finals

After looking at some of those scores this link might help ;):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1921_Stanley_Cup_Finals

Edit: Too slow. I still think this would of made more sense if it was played during the 2014-2015 season. Not complaining though.
