it's BC place. The area of the hole in the roof is about the size of one team's defensive zone.

It is the size of a CFL football feild/MLS Pitch. The stands remain covered at all times.

Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful venue. Not suited to an NHL game. Not a true outdoor game.

My idea is to do it down in Seattle at whatever its called now, used to be Seahawks Stadium. It could be used as an expansion/relocation drive for a Seattle team. Have a set number of Seattle only seats and pre-sale for those willing to pledge x-amount of years to seasons tickets.

The NHL wants to make new hockey markets, make this one.

Also if it does happen we need to pack the house with a lot of Sens fans and have a tailgate party before hand!

Im from Vancouver so if its announced I'll look into it all.

lol as if we want a series of freaking stadium games.

Always the dollars, always the ****ing dollars.

Why can't it be both?

I'd love to see a series of stadium games... without it, the Sens would probably be waiting a loooooooong time for their turn at an outdoor game.

We get what we want, and the league makes some extra $. Where's the harm in that?

Yeah, I like this move from the league. Never understood the "we should have 1 outdoor game a year" crowd. Atmosphere is what make the games cool and other than that how is it "special", still the same game being played.

If it is anything but sunny the roof at BC Place will be closed. The systems installed cannot handle much moisture.

Also the jerseys will be a white version of the Heritage!

No they just can't retract the roof open or closed if it is raining. Once it is open it has to stay open.

BC Place was probably selected 1: because it's brand new. 2: it's incredible both in size and design. High profile arena for a high profile event. My only concern is that it is in March.. This makes no sense to me. It is usually raining (rare cases of snow) early March with temperature ranging from 4 to 7 degrees. A little mild for an outdoor game. But I'm pretty stoked that of all the places for Sens to have an outdoor game they come to Vancouver. I will definitely be there with the new jersey they dawn for it! :yo::yo:

I lived in Vancouver... you can't fool me.

Snow in March in Vancouver (outside of the SFU campus in Burnaby) is about as likely as Florida making the playoffs this year.

What the heck is Billy Smith doing on our alumni roster? I mean, I'll take him and I know he played in nearby Cornwall but no ties to the Sens as far as I know.

No clue, most of the names there I don't recognize.

Doesn't he coach one of the University teams now (or is involved in some capacity therein)? Carleton or Ottawa: Can't remember which one.

He's an Ottawa resident at the moment though, I know that much.
