Not just big wingers. Wingers teams were scared to play against.
Boston seems to be some fan's safety blanket. When all hope is lost just remember that Boston wins. Cup without elite offensively gifted/true number 1 center. They have an element that we don't have. Opponents feared them.
And they won once, and are not nearly as good now as they once were. Chara had something to do with all of that.
boston would be scary with a legit number 1 center like Seguin
they grinded their way to a cup with a lot of luck and goaltending
Very very hard to replicate and isn't a model i would build my team around just cause it is very hard to copy. I would try to be chicago
Don't they have a #1 centre in Krejci who unfortunately for them is injured right now? They also have a pretty good #2 centre in Brisebois & Campbell seems to be a decent 4th line centre. What they need is for Erickson to score like he used to in Dallas & for Reilly Smith to score like he did last yr & for Sodenberg to start rolling. The Bruins have all the pieces but injuries have hurt them a lot so far this yr & a lack of scoring from their forwards. If they can put it all together they could easily make another run.
How I wish Brisebois played for the Bruins. Bergeron, though, is a great #2.
The problem the Bs have this year, IMO, is that they lost Iginla, Lucic is a lazy oaf out there most nights, Chara has been injured and even when healthy he has lost at least a step and they have other injuries on the blueline.
Still a playoff team but without an elite Chara and Lucic actually moving his feet they aren't nearly as intimidating as they once were.
I don't see a pool of elite prospects coming up either. I think their window is closing as we speak.
They downgraded on Horton and Seguin BIG TIME. Horton I understand he had to go, but Seguin...
No guarantee Seguin would've matured mentally if he had stayed in Boston. That was his biggest problem.
they gave up way too early though
Lindberg has been very impressive.
15th in OHL scoring 38 points 13 goals in 29 games +9
Paul in 27 has 19 goals 34 points +12
Ehhh paul could have more points. But I've heard that team is very strict defensively. But still at his size. And with his skating.
Paul has a decent shot at a top 6 role several years from now.
From my limited viewing of Lind, I see a bottom 6 player.
I think a Paul - Lazar - Lindberg line will be a great line in Bingo next yr.
