Bergeron and Krejci aren't big, they won a cup with big wingers.

Yup. Those are centres that play the game the right way and are consistent. I see that in Turris and Lazar, but unfortunately I don't think they are as offensively skilled

Not just big wingers. Wingers teams were scared to play against.
Boston seems to be some fan's safety blanket. When all hope is lost just remember that Boston wins. Cup without elite offensively gifted/true number 1 center. They have an element that we don't have. Opponents feared them.

They also had competent players lines 1 through 4 who executed their roles on a nightly basis.

And they won once, and are not nearly as good now as they once were. Chara had something to do with all of that.

They downgraded on Horton and Seguin BIG TIME. Horton I understand he had to go, but Seguin...

boston would be scary with a legit number 1 center like Seguin

they grinded their way to a cup with a lot of luck and goaltending

Very very hard to replicate and isn't a model i would build my team around just cause it is very hard to copy. I would try to be chicago

Don't they have a #1 centre in Krejci who unfortunately for them is injured right now? They also have a pretty good #2 centre in Brisebois & Campbell seems to be a decent 4th line centre. What they need is for Erickson to score like he used to in Dallas & for Reilly Smith to score like he did last yr & for Sodenberg to start rolling. The Bruins have all the pieces but injuries have hurt them a lot so far this yr & a lack of scoring from their forwards. If they can put it all together they could easily make another run.

How I wish Brisebois played for the Bruins. Bergeron, though, is a great #2.

The problem the Bs have this year, IMO, is that they lost Iginla, Lucic is a lazy oaf out there most nights, Chara has been injured and even when healthy he has lost at least a step and they have other injuries on the blueline.

Still a playoff team but without an elite Chara and Lucic actually moving his feet they aren't nearly as intimidating as they once were.

I don't see a pool of elite prospects coming up either. I think their window is closing as we speak.

They're window most definitely is closing.theyre cup window. They'll still be a superior team in the east for a while longer. Then they'll do terribly and draft great players. And then become good again.
And we will be in 8th.

they gave up way too early though

True.

At the same time, we haven't really gone far enough down the road yet to know for sure if this is how Seguin will be from now on. If he is on this pace by the end of the year and has those 2 solid full seasons under his belt, then it becomes more definite.

Ehhh paul could have more points. But I've heard that team is very strict defensively. But still at his size. And with his skating.

yeah probably. but still surprised/impressed that lindberg has a couple more pts than paul. now very interested to see how both progress. could have 2 good players here.

Paul has a decent shot at a top 6 role several years from now.

From my limited viewing of Lind, I see a bottom 6 player.

that's what i think too. Paul's body still has room for more muscle.

I think a Paul - Lazar - Lindberg line will be a great line in Bingo next yr. ;)

I bet you do!!

Let me guess your vision for Ottawa's top 2 lines in 2015-16.

Dizzy - Grant - Robinson
Culek - Gaustad* - Greening

*Acquired for Pageau, Prince, Wideman, Condra and a 2015 2nd. :naughty:

Seriously though, I think the AHL would have been great for Lazar this year but I can't see them sending him down there after a year in the NHL.
