I think the team needs to take a chance and put Greening and Weir on the waiver wire. Send them to Bingo.

HonestSenator is right. When Pageau and price have played that well in the AHL, they deserve a few games in Ottawa as a reward. Not saying they'd stay all year, but we can't just bury them in Bingo all season. Not when they'll both be up for new contracts in the summer.

Greening would clear. If there was a market for him, he'd have been traded by now. Not sure about Weir.

But neither of these guys are even in the lineup. You don't call up Pageau / Price / Wideman to sit in the press box. So the bigger question is who would sit when you call them up.

If I'm the Sens I'm shopping Zack Smith. I think he might have some value around the league, and I certainly rather have Pageau or Price in the lineup over him.

I don't think so. Last year Russia with KHL defence won World Championship. Canada with average NHL defence lost in 1/4.

tournaments like that are all about getting everybody on the same page quickly. System, and how quickly players learn the system is more important that talent level. I'm not convinced WC results are indicative of quality of defense in different leagues.

i thought lazar would have scored by now, he's been very quite offensively.

We all knew his offense wasn't exactly there yet. Its his first year. He was really good against the Nucks though.

I wouldn't mind him going back to the WHL... give him half the year here, half the year there... we have so many players that need a look.... it makes sense.

Anybody notice how Harpur has turned into an offensive defenseman all of a sudden? His scoring pace is 4 times what he put up in his first 3 years in the OHL. I noticed that he did put up numbers in the rookie tournament and thought it was a fluke. The kid is starting to look legit.

Yeah, he's got better scoring numbers than 8/10 defencemen at WJC camp. Huge size and solid defensive game along with it. Yet, no invite...
I like how he is close second on the team in +/- with +12 and next defenceman is +3.
He was used mostly in shutdown role in Guelph before this season, hence no scoring.

Is it weird that Tobias Funke-Lindberg is not on Team Sweden?
He's currently got more points than Nick Paul in the OHL. Is it because he's in the OHL?

I'm fully admitting that i don't watch OHL hockey so just wondering why theres not more hype about this guy.

Yeah, this was brought up how politics play a role in the picks. From my understanding it's a no-no to play in the OHL.

Sweden tends to frown on young players leaving the local development leagues to play in NA. Politics may be playing a role in his omission, though I don't think he was ever considered a sure thing.

Paul isn't getting the hype because of scoring, but because of his total package (size, defensive play, and scoring). I think Linberg is more one dimensional atm.
