Just an FYI on Legwand. He wasnt used on the pk in Nashville to my knowledge. You'd think a great two way forward and decent faceoff man would pk in Nashville.

Well, your knowledge is severely failing you, because he was on their PK for like a decade.

legwand had 0.12 of pk time per 60 last year
Condra had 2.29 pk per 60 last year

unless im reading it wrong he didnt pk last year

Check every Preds year between the lockout and last year.

Clearly they didnt think he was as good at pking as before lol or they thought they had better pking players. Its reasonable to think he declined as a two way player and is one of the reason he was taken off

Sort of this.

He used to log both PK and PP time, but last year the team was a black home offensively, and they took his PK time away (which they could afford, since the team is full of defensive forwards, as well as Gaustad being one of the league's better PKers) to give him PP time. He led the Preds in Power Play TOI/GP last year. Played over a minute more PP per game than his career average.

They weren't going to play Legwand 22 mins/ night, so his extra PP time came at the expense of his PK time, which they had multiple guys to fill those minutes.

He also led Preds fwds in PP points, IIRC, despite being traded with 20 games left.

Legwand played for Detroit last yr not Nashville, but before last yr he had played for Nashville his whole career. Detroit probably didn't need him on the PK whereas Nashville did.

He played for both teams last year, traded at the deadline. He spent more of the season with Nsh than Det.

Graduation

So as things start to turn sideways this season for own main club I thought I'd bring up bingo. To be quite honest I'm pretty excited at what I'm seeing talent wise. When do you think these players will start to graduate and get a shot at the big leagues? I Love how we developed Hoffman, him playing in the AHL for a couple years and coming into the NHL and making a difference.

Some players to discuss Robinson puempel JGP etc.

What would you ideal lines up be and for what seasons?

LMAO.
Da Costa came back from an injury last night after missing 4 weeks and scored a hat trick. 3G 2A in 13:51 TOI.
Riding Radulov's coattails? Nope, this punk was suspended once again for abusing officials.

Just noticed Wikstrand had 3 pts in his last 3 games, now has 9 pts in 21 games.

Harpur is over a pts per game with 16pts in 15 gp.

Both these seem more pertinent to the prospects thread than Legwand, but what do I know.

Fun fact. Only two defencemen from WJC camp have better point-per-game stat than Harpur, one of them - some undrafted 5-8" guy.
Even though Harpur was drafted as a stay-at-home 6-6" defenceman in the first place.

Please stop.... :(

Still have hope he comes back to us next year as an NHL asset. He seems to just be getting and better and better.

Harpur is whatever, not very impressive, just okay. He's a long shot to make it to the NHL.

I actually think he's got a decent-to-good chance at being an NHLer.

He's a "high floor/low ceiling" guy, IMO. Seems like a good bet to be the kind of 5/6 defenceman in the nhl who isn't flashy and just gets the job done on the back end of a blueline. I don't think his offensive game will translate well at the NHL level, bu his size and defensive play should be enough to get him an extended try out in the big league, unless he falls off the rails somehow between now and then.

He had a great rookie tournament & a pretty good training camp this yr. He was also on the bubble to make Team Canada this yr. If Boro, Wiercioch & Gryba can make it to the NHL I wouldn't count Harpur out since he seems to have some offence to his game along with being a big shut down guy. I guess we'll see how he does in Bingo next yr.

You say that like it has to be a bad thing.

Boro and Hoffman arguably spent a couple years in bingo after being ready...we held onto them until room opened.

"Minister of Offence":

I disagree both Mike Hoffman, & Mark Borowiecki needed all the time they spent in Binghamton to develop and round out their games.

Because of the time they spent in Binghamton both are able now to play up top with Ottawa.....

They are better players because of it..............

pretty sure hoffman was terrible last preseason, but went on to having a great year in the A. I think Hoffman just became ready.

Harpur can be NHL material 4-5 years from now, and lots can change.
