Didn't Dorion call Wikstrand one of the best defencemen outside the NHL or something to that effect?

And I think Englund is rated even higher. Could play now type of prospect.

Wideman, Claesson, Wikstrand, Englund, Harper - its a fair depth we have. And Borowiecki and Ceci are really young as well.

hehe I know you take a lot of crap but I respect that you stand by your positions, and you end up right most if the time anyway. I agree most of the time with you, except when size takes over tenacity for a player. Example, Pageau is small but plays with an edge, he won't have any problem playing in the NHL

Merry xmas too for you and all your family!

Except for little Timmy, he was a bad boy this year and is getting coal in his stocking.

With the exception of Wideman they are all left shots, Ottawa needs to draft a couple of good right shooting defencemen. And with Karlsson & Ceci taking most of the minutes on the right side with Gryba also a right shot playing the bottom minutes, I'm not sure we will ever see Wideman in Ottawa unless one of those three get hurt. But even then with 8 defencemen on this roster I'm not sure any defencemen is called up from Bingo & if one is my guess is that it will be Claesson.

Except for little Timmy, he was a bad boy this year and is getting coal in his stocking.
I get a lot of coal, so much in fact I could start my own third world sweatshop factory making polo shirts for all the frat boys on here.

I wouldn't put Boro in the same "age" category as Ceci. Dude's 25 years old.

Not old, but he's a year older than Karlsson.

Congrats Nick Paul!

Does anyone have an update on Andreas Englund? I haven't heard very much about him since the hockey year started!

Spezza trade renamed to the Nick Paul Trade

First viewing last night.

Positives.

Big guy. Saw him throw body around once or twice. Like to see that as a part of his game.

Big reach.

Saw one shot taken from
Inside the blue line. Has some big snap on the wrister. Lazar said on radio one thing he noted about Paul was he hasn't seen a junior player shoot the puck with that velocity.

Appeared to have decent hands and mature play.

He has an appreciable room for development with his skating. His upside is very dependent on this and what his hockey iq with the puck actually is. Is he a guy that can hold on to the puck and survey/choose best option? Or is he guy that can only score when given opportunity and must rush puck decisions? That's always a biggie.

Wasn't a very tellin viewing but things to look for goig forward.

For those of you who doubted Paul, the idea that players heralded for standout performance at summer camp typically make the team holds true again.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was penciled in (not inked) before camp started.

Dorion has talked about his start.

Based on what I've heard he sounds like a mobile defensive defensemen that makes the first pass.

#4 dman hopeful kinda deal.

Given his draft position, my expectation is 3rd pairing Dman at best. BUT, i have not seen him play yet, so . . . .:)

7th in D-man ice time for Djurgarden. I know he's young, but I'd like to see that a bit higher. do they typically run 4 lines over there?

18 years old playing in a man league. And he was a second round pick on the NHL. Why were you expecting anything more.
