Yeah I agree. I think it’s just me (who clearly doesn’t like DJ) thinking there’s no way he doesn’t give these guys shit when they f*** up like they do essentially every game. I’m giving DJ the benefit of the doubt here.

Messages also become stale obviously. And he’s coached a lot of losing hockey here.
Maybe he is adverse to that sort of stuff.

I think this is all just part of the natural lifecycle of a team. We got a guy who facilitated the building of a strong room. Now it’s time for a coach to hammer in the fundamentals. No nonsense. Strict team defence. And then when that guy gets stalenanother coach is brought in.

It's been a tough stretch of games. Playing our 3rd and 4th string goalies who have no NHL experience is a baptism by fire. We have been letting in about 5 goals a game the last 4 games. Mandolese and Sogaard are still developing.

You’d think as a team they would tighten up to help them. But they’ve actually seemed to loosen

Oh I agree with you, I actually think adding Kelly and Kastelic to the list supports the point as they’re less important players being held to a higher standard than key players.

DJ made all the same moves he makes when he wants a response. Take brannstrom out. Take out a fourth liner. It’s been tried countless times

Assuming Joseph is out, I’d call up Sokolov or Greig. You need to split that second line into two lines.

You guys just aren’t getting answers you like.

And for the record. No one here thinks it’s “only the coach”. It’s never “only the coach”. To say that is just to sit on the fence. “You don’t like the coach?? Well…it’s never only the coach. Ha! Gotcha!” Like yeah guys we know.

But coaches get fired more than stars get traded?it’s the first step in change. So when I say. “Likely time for a new coach here” I’m not saying “this is all DJs fault even down to the small details like players fumbling pucks and missing wide open nets”. And that’s the card that SOME of you like to play to squash the convo around coaching. And then end it with like “if you think it’s DJs fault that player x passed to the other team in the slot there than you dont watch much hockey!”

No one here thinks the players cant be a little better. I’ve brought up countless times that these kids have all been paid in their careers to lose. And solely on points. And are learning what it’s like to actually play meaningful games.

I asked (quite politely) for someone that thinks DJ has been doing a good job, to point out and explain to me what aspects of the game this team looks like it does well based on a well drilled system that is practiced. Not a single DJ defender has done so with anything other than personal attacks.

Well, the Senators PP and their PK were pretty good. Presumably the coach would have some role in that. Both of those elements have fallen off recently though. I'm not a DJ apologist or trying to defend him, but you did ask the question, and the things I mentioned seemed fairly obvious.

I think the season is pretty much done. The results of this Western Conf road trip have been the opposite of what we needed. It wouldn't be surprising if the new owners put their own people into place.

We’ve been discussing dJ for a half decade man. I’ve had zero issue describing what I like and what I dislike. Going through in game examples of our break out. Our break ins. Our play through the neutral zone. Our in zone coverage. Our consistent breakdowns over the last 5 years. It’s been 5 years of discussion.

Im not going to Re hash ever single point I have every time I say “we need a new coach”. Or “DJ sucks”. I’m not defending a thesis.
