That’s most sales.I think it was Pittsburgh fans who woke up one day to the sudden news that their team was sold.

Hell no, hockey is entertainment and we get our money worth and then some, all crazy crap going on is like a soap opera for sports fans, M night Shamalan style twists and turns, twin peaks like dream sequences, car wreaks that rival David Cronenberg's Crash, we get it all.I think it was Pittsburgh fans who woke up one day to the sudden news that their team was sold.

Man, this is dragging on like the Erik Karlson trade!
And the potential is there for a solid new owner.yes, but the EK65 trade worked out pretty pretty pretty pretty good for the Senators.
Melnyk absolutely did when he bought the team.Because he didn't have a significant revenue source outside the Sens.
And the potential is there for a solid new owner.
hopefully whomever the new owner(s) is, their focus is proportionally divided on the performance of the team, and the relocation to a downtown location for an Arena. If their focus is too much on the real estate aspect of the new Arena, there is the potential for the team to not get the attention from ownership it deserves ….. and this is why the right person is chosen for POHO is critical.
When Melnyk first came in he came in hot.
The leather jacket, the Eagles concert, the vague threats against Toronto.
What a guy.
Then the wheels came off.

Would you be happier if Neko Sparks was the only bidder?Another week, another "it's getting there".
Get the hell outta here with this never-ending process.
Would you be happier if Neko Sparks was the only bidder?
Also I don't think that any of the posters on here have ever paid $1,000,000,000. dollars for anything.This. I don't think those people complaining realize just how bad this could actually be if we didn't have like 3 other very legit billionaires fighting for control of the team.

Then we definitely should be counting our lucky stars, as if there was no other interest, and I understand league rules correctly, then it opens up the Sparks bid to moving the team elsewhere. This is only possible when there are no other suitable suitors who would want to keep the team in Ottawa and the potential owner expresses a desire to pack up and leave.Any one of the other 3 would be very acceptable. I am not sure the Sparks bid would fly even if it stood alone.
There was other interest. Seven bidders prior to the binding bid deadline. And Remington, if uncontested, likely would have had the time to negotiate with the NCC.Then we definitely should be counting our lucky stars, as if there was no other interest, and I understand league rules correctly, then it opens up the Sparks bid to moving the team elsewhere. On the surface, it was a bad trade, but it worked out because SJ became a lottery team. Not often that one of these big trades worked out in our favor.yes, but the EK65 trade worked out pretty pretty pretty pretty good for the Senators.

It's hypothetical of course. Its an interesting question though: what would have happened if no one stepped up to buy the team except someone who wanted to move it? I get the impression there was a short window for the sisters retaining full ownership of the team.A pre-requisite to the bids was that the team needed to stay in Ottawa

This is one of the most idiotic hypotheticals I've seen on here.
If only one group bids because the franchise can't be relocated then that group can relocate the franchise? Is that really your take?

Bruh... This thread is full of idiotic hypotheticals. Anyways, I clarified my point later. Thanks for your insightful feedback, I'll really take it to heart.
I'm pretty sure that would exceed the character limit of a post. Who has the time? 175 pages of posts hypothetically speculating about this entire process is a lot to wade through.Point out those idiotic hypotheticals then because I don't see them. There was no need for you to "clarify" it because the problem is not understanding what you posted but rather why you posted it. Have you really not figured out the error in your logic yet?
