Don’t know if it was posted already or not but… lol

It's refreshing to see someone in the media finally asking these questions. You can rest assured that if fans on reddit and twitter, and media ppl like Seravalli are asking these questions, that the finance people at GSP are all over this. Neko Sparks bid is dead in the water; they'll be advising the Melnyk daughters to stay far away from this clown show.

Yes GSP et Al would be way ahead on Neko than any fan, media or Reddit user….

I suspect that some bidders might be scrambling to acquire the cash required to seal the deal. Hopefully there is at least one bidder with the financing already arranged and in-place.

I mean, this could be why the other bidders are getting upset. If the Sparks bid was one of/the highest bid made despite the questions about where the money is coming from, you start to wonder why GSP allowed the bid to move forward.

If they had no intention of selling the team to Sparks but allowed him to proceed in an attempt to drive up the purchase price, that's shady.

I don't know what we expected though. Good chance Melnyk cronies are involved in the sale so there was bound to be stuff like this coming up lol.

This could be why we're hearing (from Friedman today, for example) that other groups are frustrated and feel the process is becoming unreasonable.

If, for example, GSP is going to Andlauer and saying, "Can you get your bid to $1B because Sparks is offering $975M" and he's thinking that $975M isn't a real bid... you can see where there'd be frustration.

The first inkling that this whole thing was becoming a mess was when Garrioch reported that Remington felt that GSP was trying to get them to "bid against themselves".

We didn't really didn't get many leaks from the Apostolopolous/Andlauer/Kimel bids for the last few weeks, whereas there has been all sorts of stuff coming out about Sparks (mostly from Mendes). Seems like some of the other groups are starting to talk to insiders about how things are going...

I thought it gave Andlauer the nod. Even he he comes in with a slightly lower bid, he’s probably the prefered bid, especially after Jeff York comes in.
I can see why you felt that way. At the end of the day, this is Boo Boo we're talking about here, lol.

The indications are Andlauer, 57, and the Kimel family discussed a partnership deal in the last 10 days to try to make the purchase of the Senators together, but couldn’t find common ground to make it happen.

Both decided they’d let their bids stand on their own and, in the end, it didn’t make sense for them to join forces. Both felt they were “overpaying” for the franchise and likely couldn’t agree on a 50/50 split scenario if they did try to form a partnership.

Just give the team to Steve Apostolopoulos

All we need is for the preferred bid to fall apart under scrutiny, like maybe the principal boos Bettman, and we go back to sorting the remaining bids.

Steve’s only partners are his brothers. With the Melnyks getting 10%, I wonder if he’ll fit in Jeff York’s local consortium for another 10%.
