Yeah if i’m another bidder i’m telling GSP to get on with it. This has already gotten ridiculous.

If we have a top bidder that ends up pulling out bc of the f***ery, it would be a terrible look on GSP
We already did....

The bidders are already angry, but I doubt anyone is pulling out of a billion dollar investment because they have to wait a week or two longer than they should. The other three bidders aren't dumb enough to believe Sparks ever had a chance at getting the team.

I know I mentioned this before, but honestly don’t expect something concrete to be announced this week.

I wouldn’t say there is 0 chance it happens, but I heard more realistically June 1st.

Again, putting this back out there. Internally the team is locked into July 1st as their date to hand over the “keys”.

I honestly have no clue if that is an attainable target for GSP, but the team itself is ready to rock and roll.

Under different circumstances yeah. I’m talking specifically the Kimel, Andlauer or Steve A bids which from all accounts are the top 3 current bids
There were reports that all the bids where a bit annoyed at the process. Data room not ready on time and other things. It's all in this thread. This seems like a continuation. Remember when Atlanta moved to Winn? There is rumour Atlanta is moving, Bettman don't do rumours, 2 days later....moved. This is a gong show and Remmington pulling a power move to push the process is fair...a gamble, but fair. If the answer was, Ok you can talk with the city and the ncc..but everybody else gets to as well...do you think Nico would still be in the process?

That wasn't on GSP - That was on Remington, trying to strong arm the process, then backing out when they were told that wasn't going to happen.

No need to be disingenuous about it.
Take Disingenous and shove it.

Surprised Remington was the only group that made a move TBH.

This has not been a well-run process and the fact that "final" bids are still being considered like 10 days after the deadline is absurd. It's made more absurd by the fact that one of the bidders still doesn't have their cap stack finalized.

If you're the $1B bidder there is some logic to saying you want to know in 24 hours or you're out. Put some pressure on the sell side.

Remington pulled out because they were in it primarily for the real estate. The others aren’t.

Well that's fine. But ultimately they said "this is taking time and effort we want exclusivity or we're done here".

I see the logic in it. Ultimately backfired but as a buyer sometimes you need to throw down an ultimatum to get some transparency from the seller (and vice versa).

I dunno, if i feel like GSP was bending the rules/conditions that had been set to let another group get additional funding past deadline and then have them come back with counter offers to hike up the sell price, i would not be happy. Obviously doubt it gets to that point but these are billionaires with sometimes fragile egos. If the Sparks group was never truly considered, what is the point of all this delay?

In the end there really wasn’t much final about those bids submitted on May 15

When there are three other bidders, I don't understand why the bank or the league has any patience for the Sparks group. Sure, maybe they can find the money today, but how the f*** would they operate as owners?

For GSP 4 bidders are better than 3. Hopefully that's not what's going on here but yeah.

Always good to get the straight goods from someone plugged in to the potential buyers motives
That’s pretty much been echoed by several insiders. Saying Remington’s primary goal is the arena isn’t some sort of hot take.

Remington pulled the exact same thing in 2012 when they wanted to buy the Coyotes. They pulled out late and the NHL wasn’t happy.
