you may want to take a real close look at how many offshore gambling sites are owned and run by native groups.

You may want to examine the control of casinos, pot shops and other institutions in this country.

When it comes to the "entertainment" dollar... The indigenous society is up front.

Niko is far smarter than you think..... Plus add to it the Woke Mob times we live in... Let's see some politician say no to an Indigenous group request.. Their ass would be handed to them...

Let's see The Neek waltz into town with some Natives and have a photo opp with Justine, or the Mayor and then have those two say no to something. Ohh yea elections are every 4 years...

well part of this ignorant thinking By Sparks is that all First Nations groups are equal and inviting to share their profit and business- I don't see that. If you are a band making millions off the ownership of the Senators why would you sacrifice this to another First Nations group because some guy in a tower in L.A. thinks an NHL is a kids circle you can join at any time? It's pie in the sky wishful thinking.

With Ian hinting that after the bids are in they may seek last minute changes/partnerships

Andlauer may have played this the best by not having a celebrity attached to his bid. Makes it wide up for Reynolds’s to join and give his bid the nod

Team won’t be making millions, they will heavily leveraged, especially if building an arena.

Interesting tidbits from Firestone on Bettman’s role in the process:

“In the end, any prospective owner is unlikely to score the team without the go-ahead from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, who Firestone expects is keeping a "scorecard" to rank the bids.

“Pretty much nothing happens in the NHL without Mr. Bettman being onside," said Firestone.

In his view, Bettman's scorecard will rank the bids on financial depth, business acumen and real estate chops, but also on less tangible measures like trust, reputation and celebrity buzz.

"He will be looking for somebody who's not going to embarrass the national league," said Firestone. "They're looking for a cultural fit."

We rushed back to the arena too quickly. :(

If we had tempered our enthusiasm, sale price would be lower, and the buyer wouldn't be as over-leveraged, their margins on team operations would be higher, and we'd be happier.

Season ticket holders are to blame. Again.

"Cultural fit." But one of the bidders' value proposition is cultural shift, not fit. Considering what we've been through in Chicago, with Team Canada, and the turn against hard-nosed coaches like Keenan and Backcock, you'd think the Neko bid's promise of more PoC and women representation in the ownership group and front-office would be welcomed.

This is so embarrassing...

What first nations group? What is First Nations of Canada?

I really don't buy what he is selling here.. he had another interview where he talks about how he wants to start a Snoop hockey league for underprivileged kids in the United States if he wins the bid. Well you know Snoop, you don't need to own an NHL team to do that. Why didn't you do that 5 years ago? Go blow your smoke up another city's ***.
