You must have some pretty crazy insight into the bidding process to come up with these conclusions!

I mean, it's been reported several times that some of the bidders are okay with staying in Kanata. And it's not a huge stretch to believe that Ryan Reynolds is primarily interested in monetizing the story, and that's why he got involved.

"Ottawa Senators to stay in Kanata" is not a great story.

What is it that gives Reynolds the Ottawa connection? All I think of when I think of him is "VancityReynolds". Seems like people feel he has a bigger personal connection to the community than anyone though, where does that come from?

Andlauer ownership would probably end up looking a lot like Melnyk ownership, minus the unhinged public persona.

Melnyk ownership was fine until he became unhinged. 2003-2017 was a good time to be a Sens fan, for the most part.

So as long as Andlauer doesn't go through a nasty divorce, get booted from his own company and resort to spending his nights drinking and watching Bill O'Reilly, that should be okay.

Melnyk operated in a budget during playoff seasons. THAT SHOULD NEVER BE OK.

I am confident it won't be Andlauer alone he has been tied to the local investor group and hopefully someone else helps him financially. I am sure the league does not want another Melnyk type ownership for this fan base.

Owing a sport franchise is like owing a super yacht. Fews weeks enjoying it, spending millions to maintain it. Owners of the major sport franchises should never own it, if they think they can make money or to run it as a thrift shop. Spend to the cap, build a winner, have a thrill. You can always sell it after. It is not a yacht with a depreciation value.

Does anyone know which First Nations group(s) is involved? Because "First Nations of Canada" is not a thing. There are hundreds of recognized First Nations groups across the country.

This would be like Snoop Dogg saying, "I'm thrilled to partner with the people of Asian descent to purchase the Ottawa Senators."

How big an equity stake could be involved for First Nations communities is not clear, but is believed to be more than 10 per cent and includes “real estate, technology and entertainment avenues."

Sounds pretty fuzzy and similar to the promise of Neko's crypto token, "Our primary focus with Niros is to ensure that those most often neglected, and relegated to the fringes, during economic shifts in wealth will no longer be left out. Today’s disenfranchised will be tomorrow’s millionaires."

It's troubling that the media reports on these claims with no actual details.
