I think JT and Willy need to be reunited.

Whatever chemistry there was between Marner and Tavares ain't there anymore. And that line is PAINFULLY slow too with Ritchie on there.

let's put Marner's line driving to the test and see if he can carry Kerfoot and Bunting.
marner used to be my 2nd favorite player, that has slowly been changing over time.
he reminds me of a james harden type star, just empty calorie scoring and cant perform when the chips are down lol.

The Leafs have been at the bottom of the league for drawing penalties. There's something shady going on there.

It won't get any better with those US TV deals. Gotta promote those American teams.
we've also been at the bottom of the league for taking penalties so there must be something shady going on

this team is making the playoffs.

my point was exactly the point I made in the off-season.

If they came back with the same core, everything they achieve would be met with “yeah but wait for the playoffs”

presidents trophy... yeah but wait for the playoffs.

Wins? Losses? Who cares. Wait for the playoffs.

We had a lot of folks with similar thinking a few months ago. I posted the same last night and was uninvited to the thread.

Oh well. It’s as true tonight as it was last night as it was on locker clean out day.

nothing they do can impress. Nothing they do can be more disappointing.

playoffs is when we should care.

Marner and Tavares did well when they had speedy net presence Hyman on their line so I would try Bunting with them.

Ritchie and JT are too slow of a combo together and are both net front guys.

Bunting - Tavares - Marner
Ritchie - Keefoot - Nylander

Well when you dont play physical and dont get involved in plays you dont take penalties.... not hard to understand why we dont get many...

somebody go back to the last 30 seconds and watch marner behind the net. dude just lacks compete i think. when he cant make the amazing play he just kinda gives up. with the puck a few feet from him and the game on the line he just stops skating and kinda watches as everyone else fights for the puck. kinda irritating to see

Well, he did go into the offseason promising not to change anything, and he's kept his word.

I guess if you're looking for a really different evolved game after that crisis, it's just not going to happen.

Missed the game but wtf they actually counted this?

I wonder what the pay is for their video review crew, I could probably do it so drunk that I can't remember & be considered 'elite'.

My favourite part was when the TSN panel kept insisting that it was a redirect.
Just towing the company line. Not an ounce of integrity if you added them all together.

They need to tell Mitch to stop shooting. Give it up, just make him focus on what he's good at. He'll never be the double threat they want him to be.

How about they tell Mitch to hit the gym to get some power on his shots and practice to improve his glacially slow release?

its just so frustrating to see somebody that talented give up so easily on a consistent basis :(

would be nice if the 11 AAV players showed up to play when dressed

btw has Tavares' skating slowed down even more this season. he looked so freakin' slow

He looked better so far than he did at the start of last season, and did turn it on down the stretch, so I'm optimistic we aren't seeing a permanent decline from him just yet...

But it's really annoying to me that there are more than a handful of nights when Jason Spezza is bringing it and Tavares is just in quick sand.
