By my twisted logic that's still more than Schief so I expect him to be a better player and I'd bet he will be.
Therefore more criticized when they play equal.

5/5 Dostoevsky guys for this one. Brossoit, Matty P, Wheels, Chef, Buff, and some others earned it. Laine and Litts not the problem. The power play has got peptic dysfunction and a torn ACL.

As I said in a previous thread, the one nagging fear I have that won't go away is, our #7 D-man from last season now plays top 4 minutes against top 6 competition.

I think a close 2nd is that Joe Morrow continues to play at all.

I think most other things will resolve themselves but what has gotten lost in all the chatter about getting a 2C before the deadline, is how much we need to improve our LHD .

Huge over-reaction in here. There were two reasons the Jets lost that game and they were both wearing a shit-tonne more equipment than everyone else on the ice.

Anyone who thinks the Jets were outplayed in general in that game didn't see what I saw.

On the road so I listened to most of game on sat radio......Senators feed. This one comment says it all for me......”Laine has the puck and moving in the neutral zone.....in slow motion. Duschene (my spelling bad) takes the puck away......easily.” And then the announcer went on to wonder whether Maurice was getting a little annoyed with Laine. And I’ve still got four hours to stew over that game. Yikes!

This is the same for a lot of contracts for top heavy teams .
Better players will end of with lesser salary in some years.
Case in point when Scheifele signed that contract. Wheeler was the better players.
There is a cycle into this. Little was still the 1C aswell.

I truly believe that some people would prefer a team comprised entirely of third and fourth line grinders because they play “hard”.

Chiarot, Morrow and Myers are a far, FAR bigger problem than Little, who has had a fairly nice year all things considered.

Except for one hot month, he’s not shown himself to be a 40 goal scorer this year. It’s very possible he will never reach the levels of his first two years as a pro.

Sabres playing on a back to back and 3 in 4 tomorrow like the Jets, but not one of the Sabres forwards played as much as 18 minutes today. Scheifele with almost 22 minutes tonight, Wheeler over 20 and Connor close to 20. Meanwhile, Lemieux and Appleton with around 8 minutes each, despite very strong games. This was a blowout. Not sure Maurice has a good handle on player usage.

Player usage is his biggest weakness.

If you want to shake it up, replace Wheeler with Roslovic. Very good passer and much better shot than Wheeler.

exactly. Everyone in the league knows to pressure Wheeler to the point of overplaying him. His puck handling has been toxic to the PP for a six weeks now.
