Maurice said he's 'fine' with the PP units. Also said that the line changes at the end were circumstantial. Doesn't sound like changes will be made for tomorrow.

Hopefully the Jets get 6 PPs next game and Buffalo shuts us out on all 6.

Take what Maurice says with a grain of salt, he will never throw one of his players under the bus. Guaranteed he tried to make those guys cry today.

It would be interesting to see the numbers for both.
I'm guilty of "Laine" watching because he has been brutal.
But no doubt about it - Wheels also had a bad game -
Wheels is a 32 year old vet. Laine is 20. When Wheeler was Laine's age he was scoring 18 goals in his second year of college, and a couple of seasons away from his rookie year in the NHL.

That's why I tend to be much more critical of Wheeler or Scheifele when they have poor games. They are vets that should be more polished and consistent.

You mean he actually has played some great games for you guys? I never understood why Winnipeg picked him up in the 1st place., this LB was just horrible for us and was glad to see him go. signed Oiler fan

I think this is his second or third game below league average all season?

Anytime a goalie has a save % over 930 that team usually wins.
Find a better centre for Wheeler than Schiefele. ..don't think so
Find a better winger for Schiefele than Wheeler. .not likely.
Know more about players than an HFBoard critic .....professional coach 100% of the time.
Can the Jets beat anyone...guaranteed
Are we deep enough to win SC...yes
Is the team you fantasize about better than the Jets.....of course.

I already gave it to you - read.
He turns the puck over - especially in the neutral zone - I seen one shift where he turned it over 3 times - and it's killing us.

Take your own advice and watch the game - I don't miss any and I keep an eye on the guy that could cost us a ton with his next contact.
This may have been his best game in a while but it still wasn't anything close to being good enough.

WPGChief lays it out pretty well in his post. I'm calling out the turnovers because they happen a lot, every game, every night.
Turnovers are killing us - we need to stop turning the puck over in our zone and the neutral.
Are there other players or issues that could be discussed? Sure, but I see turnovers as being a major problem so I'm picking on the guy that creates the most.
Hopefully that's enough perspective for you.

Agreed, peoples standards have really dropped on this kid.

On the other hand, neither Wheeler or Schief are looking for a contract next year. If Laine wants to be paid 10 mil and more than the other guys than its easy being more critical of him. Wheeler was not looking for a huge contract when he was Laine's age.

Huh? You think that players should only play well because they are looking for a contract? That's depressing.

So at this point of the season Trap teams give the Jets problems and Speed teams gives them problems doesn't bode well for the rest of the year
Amazingly, despite being terrible they are third in the NHL standings and 4th in goal differential...

I thought Myers was very effective today, our best D.

Brossoit should have at least two of those goals. He was pretty bad.

Why did Maurice take Laine off of the PP? I’m not even a Laine fan, but you don’t take that man off the PP.

Ya Rosie on the first PP has done nothing, but in fairness the PP could use a reboot.

Agreed Myers was real good after a shaky first.
