GDT: Semifinal - May 25 - Canada vs Czech Republic

We are unable to find scoring positions, our guys seem like they sh*t their pants in locker room a bit. This is playable Canadian team, there is no reason to give them such overwhelming respect.
 
The more I watch that goal replay... more I think Bartosak should've had it. Beautiful tip by an amazing player but I think even Stone was surprised that got to the back of the net.

In that case, who needs any NHL players, Finland has shown that :). Could be a strength for the type of team as Czechs who are similar to Finland in some ways. The team play aspect is pretty natural to Czechs as it is for the Finns.

I don't think the Czechs have been playing bad, even at 5 on 5 they worked the puck in the offensive zone pretty well at times and had real quality chances that if not for Murray playing well they easily could have scored on.

Yeah but if you gonna be underdogs you better make sure you maximize your chance of winning.

Pretty passing to get one pretty shot off that is not even that pretty is not going to cut it. You know how Canada is. They will not lose this game unless the czechs can divert from this BS game plan.
 
Vrana got 26 seconds that period. Chytil got 0. Gulas got 5:25 which is more than Simon, Jaskin and both Zohorna's. You'd think with 2 powerplays we could at least get Vrana a shot? Moravcik got 2:07 - maybe the coach is learning that our ECHL D won't stop Canada's all NHL team? Palat got a lot of minutes... also progress.

Another interesting one is healthy scratch Zamorsky (whom I didn't even know was in the match) got over 6 minutes... is my internet broken?

I mean increase Vrana and decrease Gulas and everything else is pretty good.

This Finnish run is amazing... clearly more scouts needed in the Liiga
 
Difficult to make a choice who would be 'better' opponent for Finland, but in this game I still root for Czech.

Canada already know Finland, and it seldom repeat mistakes made early in a tournament. Czech is 'easier' on paper but... uh.

Finns themselves have already shown that what might look easy on paper, isn't necessarily that on the ice.

f***en fantastic start! Can't say I've enjoyed Bartosak in this game... I know Czechs get mad when I point out Extraliga guys don't beat NHLers but that's 2 very questionable goals.
