I agree this team had trouble getting on track the whole tournament . They were lucky to get to the final 4 imo. Just not a lot of inspired play.

The argument in the 'free gold' discussions are the final matchup, always.
A team wins a 'free gold' no matter how the game went if the heavy underdog loses as expected.

No it isn't, how does that even make sense?

Just take a second to think about it, if we had to beat Canada and Finland to make it to the final it's not a free gold no matter how you look at it. Disregarding the games before is moronic since we actually beat out the best team in the tournament, which means that we'll get a easier Final match-up no matter what.

For our 2013, 2017 and 2018 ( ) Golds we went through Canada x 2, USA and Finland in the elimination rounds. It's not our fault Finland's NT can't handle pressure and loses to teams like Switzerland and Germany.

It won't be easy game for Team Sweden. At least it won't be if Swedes take it as "free Gold".

Both above games versus Switzerland should make that clear - in a Team Sweden's video-replay session.

The way Sweden plays is always difficult to oppose for Switzerland, this year as well. The match against Sweden was the only one were I felt the team was kinda helpless, only the fact that the swedes decided to circle around instead of shooting was the only thing that kept the match kinda close.
Not expecting much of an upset tomorrow.

Any nation in any sport will complain about 'easy golds' if their team isn't in said final and/or the final isn't a 'fair' affair, as if there is an underdog which loses as expected.

This phenomenon isn't exclusive to any fanbase.

Canada's goaltending was no where near good enough. There were not a lot of good goaltenders to choose from. Price turned them down after a tough year and I guess Smith, Dubnyk and Jones turned them down or weren't asked.

In fairness I'd say the vast majority of Canadians congratulated the Swiss fans and their team.
