No it isn't, how does that even make sense?

Just take a second to think about it, if we had to beat Canada and Finland to make it to the final it's not a free gold no matter how you look at it. Disregarding the games before is moronic since we actually beat out the best team in the tournament, which means that we'll get a easier Final match-up no matter what.
Reading comprehension, you literally need it.
I wasn't making a case for the 'free gold' argument but you still had to try to explain why you're against it..

OMG!!!!

Several?????

SEVERAL POSTERS?????

Well it must be hard for you to not win the gold. Oh wait, i know the classic i dont care about whc response after a loss.

To all Finns, about the free gold to Sweden:

1) Which team did Finland lose to?
2) If the Swiss play like this tomorrow it will be a 50/50 game.

1) Sweden is not Finland
2)No matter how well they play or how much they'd deserve to win the cinderella team always come up short in the final game, seen it a million times. Be it a lucky bounce or missed call or some other mishap it always ends up in tears.

So feel free to plan the parade if you are Swedish.

McDavid is probably the only player that makes the Canadian Olympic roster if it were right now from this team.

Vlasics play has declined significantly the last year. Ekblad is a maybe for a bottom pairing spot/7th D in the press box, same with Parayko.
Kuemper makes it

Even as a swede I would not be sad to lose the gold to Switzerland (that has never won, from what I know)...look forward for great gold and bronze medal games.

On another topic, all people saying swiss won against a bad canada team...well, might be true...but a bad canada team is still better then most teams...mcdavid, barzal, parayko, nh, o'reilly etc still a better team than most...but agree, the goaltending was not great and defence was so so...but don't blame them for all...offence must produce and they didn't.

The Swiss have always been a well coached team, even years back when they did not match up at all talent wise they played sound hockey. Now their talent level is closer and they can get results.

As I said in another thread, Canada has a huge problem in goaltending in many of these tournies.

The AWFUL metamorphosis of how goal is played the last decade has equalized things.

A little embarrassing to lose this, but when the goalies you choose to take to the tournament are Darcy Kuemper and Curtis McElhinney, you can't really expect too much. If Canada had gotten someone like Martin Jones or Devan Dubnyk to play instead, they'd be going to the gold medal game. But I guess they weren't available.

I'm referring to the fact that you are calling out the entire nations of Canada and Finland for terrible sportsmanship because of "several posters".

Yes, I'd rather win the gold.

Oh well.

what specifically did peters do that was bad?

In game decision making was seriously lacking (Specific: Timeout right after a goal with 2 mins left to go? Why not save it) and line combos were not good to say the least.

Switzerland will most likely be quite tired and Sweden gets more rest, but I think it will be a real close game but Sweden will take it.

Switzerland has scored 3 goals against Russia, Czech Republic, Finland, Canada and Sweden so far in this tournament. Nice to see. They scored at least 3 against everyone but Slovakia lol.

4 vs the Czech, to be precise.

Sweden is our Kryptonite. It's the only team that was clearly better than us in the tournament, when we lost 5-3 to them and that's not by chance.

All Finns? I don't think like that. Switzerland has a good team with lots of heart and skill. I think it will be a one or two goal game but I think Swedes will take it.

Canada Standouts:

O'Reilly - Doesnt get the credit he deserves in Buffalo but what a player
Edmonson - Really Solid Tournament and led the team with +11
Parayko - This guy is a legit #1 d-man
Canada's 3rd line (Dubois, Horvat, Pageau) - All around solid tournament for all 3 players.

Yeah, pretty weak.

I wasn't as impressed with Edmundson as you were but I also only really watched the elimination games very closely.

I'd say McDavid was the biggest stand-out.

lol

yes we have the better team on paper and we won all games so far, but swiss for sure more hungry and i think swiss have been better playing-wise so far. its gonna be a even game.
Good to see that there are level headed and realistically thinking Swedes. I was afraid that more of Swedes would share that very arrogant approach that the poster that you replied to has. Hopefully he is alone with that rubbish attitude.

I'd also add that Parayko is from from a legit #1, as the poster states.
he's good, but a ways to go yet.
