This is funny because its true:D and yeah im a bit (butthurted) but basicly because moste of a few finnish posters! even tho the majority have been nice!

And yeah i agree the better team won today!:handclap:

I always want the finns to win (of course) but after that I always root for the swedes. I will be going to most medal games tomorrow and will be rooting for you guys in the bronze game!

The Sweden, Canada, USA group was clearly better they said , two teams from that group will play in the final they said

It's a quick, 1 game knock-out, they saw.

45 seconds - I thought you would remember that. Relegation fodder almost took out the group leader.

LMAO. I'd bet my house it would be Finland 10/10

Ainec

I wish they could do it - i would take that bet all day, and have a nice finnish retreat by the weekend. Fins haven't marched through this tourney like some unbeatable beast, they have flaws and would easily lose 1/10 games.

Easy win... that wasnt even exciting Sweden cant handle Finlands superior skill. We have overtaken sweden in elite player production years ago already this wasnt even worthy semi final we are just superior. hoping for better final, bye bye sweden better luck next year

The highest scoring Finnish rookie in 14-15 would place #9 among Swedish rookies. He even got outscored by two rookie defensemen. Come back when a Finnish junior actually pans out into something.

Perhaps so, but I'm noticing others quoting and agreeing with him, as well as some similar posts. Maybe it's just the trashy ones revealing themselves atm.

Everyone with a little hockey knowledge knows that his post is pure BS.

I hope you enjoy that game! and i will cheer for Finland to get the gold:handclap:

What? It was an illegal hit to the head. No team had to deal with the kind of injuries that Sweden did.

Maybe not this year. Yes, the hit was illegal, but Nylander played that situation risky in a way that is usually taught to be putting yourself and the puck into a vulnerable position. Over-confident cut through the mid-zone without looking at the surroundings. He has himself to blame for the injury too. No hockey player should not execute a hit if a player with a puck plays like your precious Willie.

I don't think a single Finnish fan can't refute that we didn't get some help from the refs, but we played a damn great game.

To keep the Swedes with 3 shots on goal in the 3rd was incredible, and we used the ref advantage we got to perfection with the two questionable calls.

We used what we got and won the game.

Yeah, I was super impressed with how well we defended for the whole 3rd keeping our composure and not crumbling as usual when going into defensive mode.

I think we created more high quality scoring chance's so you might say we deserved the win but it's still hard to celebrate too much since the ref's helped us win today, but we have been on the receiving end of atrocious refereeing so many times through out history so it's nice to be favored for once.

you mean finns should be thanking the offials AND Chris Egli?

No they shouldn't, getting two bad calls against and then letting in two goals on the following powerplays is no reaon not to get in to the game again that's poor resilience anyway you cut it.

Oh, I have huge admiration for the Swedish style of hockey: confident, disciplined, highly skilled and when needed physically tough. Only minus is you defeat Finland far too often, but I'm absolutely cheering you against the North Americans.

My hat is off for Jukka Jalonen. He made the team play responsibly in defense at the eleventh hour. Also, it's nice that our youngsters gain experience from beating Sweden in big games. Hopefully our men's team can build on that in the future.

This game was more of what I've come to expect from Finland. Kähkönen was the king of his net, defense was solid and the score was low. I'm very happy to see Rantanen and Kapanen really play as well as they can, they have been solid, especially Kapanen, but this game they really started playing. Wasn't it the quarterfinal against Sweden when Kapanen scored that nice goal last year too?

Puljujärvi-line was very tightly checked and wasn't the force they have been in the previous set of games. They had some chances, but they were also constantly pinned on their own zone. They clearly lost their "pelihuumori" against the very tight defense, kind of like against Russia during the second period. Hopefully Rantanen and Kapanen can keep up their good play, that should open up the game for the teenagers too. Extra note: Laine was very active on the forecheck and in his own zone. Very nice to see that he can be useful even when not scoring.

Overall, not your typical Finland-Sweden game. We actually dared to play and be better, not just turtle and try to score on lucky chances. Bad calls were made, but as a Finn I can't let it bother me too much, seeing how many times we have faced such reffing too. This is a very special Finnish team, I know I'm going to miss the older guys and of course Pula-aho-line. Luckily we should have Juolevi next year plus some other good defensemen.

I am not a Swede. It doesn't make a lick of difference what Nylander was doing. It is still an illegal check to the head. The rest of it is just victim blaming.

Sweden got screwed by incredibly soft penalties but they didn't play very well today.

Kapanen looked great to me, he is fantastic on his edges.

Some very questionable reffing which unfortunately cost the Swedes a lot, but we will take it. Sweden did not really show up after the first period, I just wish the refs hadn't interfered that much - I am confident we would have gotten it done even without the soft calls.

That being said, an intense game with a lot of speed - let's see what happens tomorrow! Hope we get the gold against USA & Mathews and Sweden beats Russia for bronze. :)
