this Russian team was one of the least skilled teams I have seen from them in years, their defensive zone trap was abysmal and their offensive play even though they got shots on goal was hardly anything noteworthy. This team looked like Denmark out there relying on a system instead of skill, which I still cant believe I have witnessed.
That's funny, this exact thing from the art of war occurred to me after hearing that Wilson interview clip acting so smug.
Not only a disrespectful thing to say, also just plain bad strategy and preparation for any kind of competition against an opponent.
I honestly couldn;t care less re: his comments about TC yesterday, they were true enough, but that bit about "..don't know anything about any of the Russian players, do you?..." today, wow! Talk about piling pressure on your team whose players were prob feeling enough pressure as it was, not to mention giving added motivation to the Russians.
Unless they did prepare and scout for Russia and he was just being a dick as a way of playing mind games or something? Why wouldn't you want to know who their stronger, weaker players are, different tendencies, style of play, etc.
I know we're all upset but you gotta give Russia some credit. They got the job done. There is a reason they are undefeated. They played with a lot of heart and executed. This was a talented US team but Russia is never a slouch and they got the job done.
Really? So the second Russian goal is not a skill play?

US didn't have enough depth. Bottom six did absolutely nothing. Shut down Matthews, you shut down the team. Werenski was playing like garbage today and he was still out every other shift because there's nobody else.

pretty garbage of a game if you ask me compared to many other past USA vs Russia games.

the US team looked scared, lost, afraid, disinterested, whatever words you can describe. so much skill with so little fire in their belly. they left a lot of skill at home and now have to answer for it. this team had the talent to win the gold, but now laughably go to a bronze medal game with a group that simply **** the bed. blame coaching, blame the GM, blame whoever, but this game was not nearly as good as it should have been and I am more disappointed in a lackluster game than team USA losing.
Finland wins this Gold easily, and rightfully so as skill should win, especially when your skill has heart...ours simply did not as Matthews went invisible and our captain looked like our worst dman at times.
I am changing over to soccer now, cant take this **** anymore.
I didn't stutter when I typed....without a doubt one of the least skilled teams I have seen from this nation. one lucky play doesn't change that. they won, and now I hope they get destroyed which they should by a more talented squad. the US team sucked royal ass today, good for Russia realizing they didn't have to do much to win.
Thanks. Go kick some *** in the final.

In all fairness i think a bronz medal means more to this teams than it dose to can, usa, swe, rus, fin
But i get your point of view!

Absolutely amazing, what a tool.
Congrats to the Russian, they definitely earned it!
More talented squad already had 6 goals in their net in the game with Russia. You can't score 6 goals against future finalist without skill. Right?
Thats a matter of shape of your system. Since 96 Sweden 11 years without medal. I bet they would have love to see that bronze plate.
Only one who can have this attitude is Canada imo, with three OG golds. The rest is nowhere near close to soccer Brazil and the gold ,even silver is definetely not a lock for them....
You also wouldnt be listed on wiki which automatically classify you to bunch of loosers![]()
Least skilled Russian teams? If you watched the game, you would've seen that these 'unskilled' Russian players were winning a lot of the battles along the boards, intercepting pucks, creating chances, etc. Nothing 'unskilled' about this team Russia. Maybe they don't have a Bure or Ovechkin in their midst, yes, but, what's even more important for success, they play as a solid unit and every line is dangerous and hungry for goals. And that's extremely important.
