It's both. Due to COVID they'd need to be purchasing like twice the number of hotel nights for an extra 12 nights before and after the tournament in accommodation, as well as a solid 5 to 10 COVID tests per foreign ref. Probably half a million dollars USD.

Alternatively... Edmonton and the WHL have a bunch of guys you could use for free.

Pretty sure the refs would be in the bubble...or I am hope so! I agree there should be some foreign refs though

Short tournament. Askarov has played very well in the KHL already. Struggling again at the WJC is a bit of a concern but his talent is still undeniable.

Big games cause big reactions at times...

He is overplaying... trying to do too much... overplaying the posts, the crease...

Stay calm play your angles... keep your posture and edges...

His growth will come between the ears with good psych coaching...

Holloway has been great all tournament, this guy hasn’t gotten enough credit he’s been very consistent and gels with pretty much everyone.

I’m not saying this because he’s an Oiler prospect but man he’s one of my favourite players to watch out there. Just all out effort every shift below the dots at both ends of the ice, just lays it on the line for his team every time he’s out there. He’s a very Canadian style of hockey player, I’ll always love that style of hockey.

Ive also liked Pelletier as well to show I’m not being biased because Country >> club allegiances for the WJC when it comes to Canada.
