LMAO, really! They are both playing in the NCAA
Obviously I was referring to the weaker ECAC vs the stronger Big 10.

It's tight because Knies has the physical element and is a good skater for his size with some skill. I think I would still take Farrell since I really do love his 200 ft game and the fact that every year he seems to get better. Knies has stagnated production wise this year.

You’d have to consider Farrell would play with better players too, if you switch both and Farrell plays with the Gophers or even Michigan.
This is the biggest thing for me against Knies. He's a highly thoughted prospect based on skills/size/skating, but his production doesn't progress. And it's not just in the NCAA, it was like that in the USHL too. It's tight because Knies has the physical element and is a good skater for his size with some skill. I agree, i also think prospects with Knies profil are more difficult to find so i understand why they would be close in prospects lists like that.Of course, which is why these comparisons are very difficult. That being said said, there is generally a linear relationship with playing in weaker leagues and increased production. Knies case is somewhat of an outlier though as he is clearly the 3rd best player on his line. I am very confident however that Farrell would put up more points than Knies if he was playing with Cooley and Snuggerud in the Big 10.
Apples and oranges and hard to compare. It boils down to who is drafting them and why. A perfect example was last draft where certain players fell even though they may end up being the better player long term. BPA is still subjective when you are splitting hairs. That would be very similar to my take. I think Farrell is more of a sure bet to be a play driving offensive contributor whereas Knies has more risk of topping out as a bottom of the lineup player. I think Knies has a higher ceiling as he is big and can really skate but I think Farrell has a better chance of reaching his ceiling.

While Farrell always progressed despite his shortcomings.
Don’t know if it was just an off game but i went to the armada/sherbrooke game 2 weeks ago and he played a lazy game, not involved and was barely moving his feet. I was excited because people said he was better this year on these aspects of his game and it didn’t look like it.Can't base progression solely on points.
Knies' production didn't progress, but the other parts of his game might have.
Just look at Joshua Roy who is on pace for a lot fewer points than last season, but looks better now.
Farrell has everything Mesar has plus everything else. I mean, Farrell IQ is way better than Mesar's and he's way more dynamic.I really hope it was just a bad scene in Kitchener because he has big time skill.
I like Roy and Farrell well enough but I don't know if they have his upside.
Mesar is a much better skater thats not even close. Has very quick hands and works better in tight. Farrell is more developped.Farrell has everything Mesar has plus everything else. I mean, Farrell IQ is way better than Mesar's and he's way more dynamic.
Farrell is Habs' best offensive prospect beside Slafkovsky. And Slaf could become a more impactful player only because of his size IMO.
From what I've seen, for both of them, I disagree. Mesar has shown some flashes but he's inconsistent in those departments. For Farrell, all of this is pretty natural.Mesar is a much better skater thats not even close. Has very quick hands and works better in tight. Farrell is more developped.
Farrell is the better player right now, we will see where Mesar is at in his D+3, but his tools are fantastic, there is a good chance Mesar becomes the most impactful player of the 2 down the road. From what I've seen, for both of them, I disagree. Farrell showed more in his D+1 than Mesar did.Farrell is the better player right now, we will see where Mesar is at in his D+3, but his tools are fantastic, there is a good chance Mesar becomes the most impactful player of the 2 down the road.
Farrell also played on a stacked team in the USHL as a 19 year old, whereas Mesar had to move countries to play in a new league. Everything is relative, you can't compare their D+1 straight up.Farrell showed more in his D+1 than Mesar did.
You mean the stacked team where he was singularly named the MVP of the league?Farrell also played on a stacked team in the USHL as a 19 year old, whereas Mesar had to move countries to play in a new league. Everything is relative, you can't compare their D+1 straight up.
I do agree that Farrell was more impressive tho, don't get me wrong.
Yes, that one. Doesn't change anything to what I've said. He did make the most of his situation, but him torching the USHL as a 19 year old isn't really a comparable situation to Mesar having to move to another country and adapt to a new league, new style of hockey, etc.You mean the stacked team where he was singularly named the MVP of the league?

He doesn't have the skating or speed of Mesar. Farrell though is a gem, got to love the way he plays, how smart he is and how skilled.
For tthose that know a lot about him, I have a question. Has gotHe doesn't have the skating or speed of Mesar. Farrell though is a gem, got to love the way he plays, how smart he is and how skilled.
Because I think Ncaa schools are the best place buildingFor tthose that know a lot about him, I have a question. Has got
stronger over the last 2 years? Because if not, then I wonder if the
unusual route of sign in the fall (just before Laval camp maybe)
could be best. Later in the year, if things go really well, they can see
how he looks in some NHL games.

I feel likeHe's definitely gotten stronger, he really does well in physical battles for the most part.
But he's getting signed at the end of his NCAA season and he will play games in Montreal to close out his season.
I feel like
Everyone's super surprised with RHP and how he's looked, and it's warranted for sure, he's played great
And it's like , it feels like Farrell will already look better the second he shows up lol
